Petroleum engineering, the branch of engineering that focuses on processes that allows the development and exploitation of crude oil and natural gas fields as well as the technical analysis, computer modeling, and forecasting of their future production performance.Petroleum engineers are responsible for the safe extraction of hydrocarbon deposits, such as oil and natural gas. This involves the planning and construction of boreholes (narrow holes drilled into the ground, used to locate resources) and oil wells (used to extract resources).A strong interest in the petroleum industry, A background in mathematics, physics and chemistry. Strong oral and written communication skills. Knowing how to organize and plan the work with specific goals in mind to accomplish it.
