Job Description

Job Summary: The Cloud Migration Engineer designs migration strategies and creates migration plans. This professional applies knowledge of Azure Cloud Services (IaaS/PaaS and Containers), Windows, Unix/Linux, VMware and PowerShell. This position requires in-depth knowledge of Cloud technologies and migration tools. We are looking for candidates who have passion for cloud with knowledge of different cloud architecture environments, and identify workloads migration to the cloud. Ideal candidates should have technical experience in migrations and the ability to help customers during their journey to the Cloud.Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Migration services
  • Capture migration requirements / Define right sizing based on Utilization / Identify potential candidates for decommission (No longer in Use / Empty)
  • Assist with creating cloud migration strategies; defining delivery architecture, creating the migration plans, designing the orchestration plans, and more. Assist in creating and executing of migration plans.
  • Determine source (Physical, Virtual and Cloud) and target Cloud Solutions Work jointly with DevOps resource and Integration Services Team.
  • Configure Cloud migration tools. Migrate workloads using the Azure Native tools / third party applications.
Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and be able to prioritize assignments.
  • Ability to work and team with a multitude of different people across teams, regions and organizations
  • Ability to deal efficiently with escalations and difficult situations/people under pressure, such as restoring services or challenging deadlines
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
  • Experience in large scale cross-platform environments (Linux, Windows 2008/2012/2016/2019)
  • Experience using service and hosting solutions such as private/public cloud IaaS, PaaS and SaaS platforms.
  • Experience planning and executing data-center consolidations, relocations, and migrations
  • Ability to perform infrastructure discovery and assessments (Movere, Azure Migrate, CloudPilot, etc)
  • Cloud Computing and Storage (Azure)
  • Knowledge of programming scripting and data science languages such as Power Shell / Python / Bash, as well as, Json / Yml.
  • CI/CD delivery using code management, configuration management and automation tools such as GitHub, Ansible, etc.
  • Experience with any claims-based authentication (SAML/OAuth/OIDC), MFA, RBAC, or ABAC
  • Experience on Kubernetes Services / Containers
  • Desirable experience on Azure Migration Tools (App Service Migration, Azure Migrate, Data Migration Assistant, etc)
  • Understanding of IP protocols, networking and domain administration / Firewalls, LoadBalancers, FCoE, IPS, IDS
  • Delivery using modern methodologies especially SAFe Agile (DevSecOps), Iterative, Waterfall, etc.
  • Knowledge of systems performance analysis and security tuning.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Advanced knowledge of ticketing systems (ServiceNow)
  • Project Management and/or Problem/Change/Release Management work experience
  • Ability to document processes and procedures
  • Ability to work and team effectively with clients, management and its staff members
  • Experience working within a global/geographical diverse company and working with varied cultures/backgrounds
  • English language skills - excellent written and verbal
Supervision Responsibilities:N/AEducation:
  • A degree in Computer Science/Management or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
Experience:
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience
