Roles and ResponsibilitiesRole:Manager- Network and SecurityReporting to:AVP (IT)Function:TechnologyGrade:G6Age Criteria:Maximum age 35 yearsExperience:7 11 YearsRole Description The Manager IT (Network and Security) will design, operate and maintain the Network infrastructure of the GST System and internal Systems of GSTN. The functional responsibility will include network definition, deployment, configure, operate and troubleshoot production issues of large network related Data Centre infrastructure for GST System including LAN, WAN of internal GSTN. He will also be responsible for ensuring adherence to organisation s policies and practises, standards, procedures for IT operations w.r.t. networking and security. The position will report to the AVP (IT). Key Responsibilities IT Network and Security

• Should have minimum 5 years working experience as hands-on networking engineer and networking equipment configuration and installation experience to include routers, switches, security appliances like firewalls, IDS/IPS etc.
• Should have CCNP certification or equivalent. CCIE certified holders will get added advantage (but not mandatory).
• Should be clear of networking fundamentals and OSI network model, network security principles and be capable of designing, implementing and troubleshooting secure network solutions for large and complex, multivendor campus LAN and WAN environments.
• Should be able to read and analyse logs, monitor and sniff/snoop networks using tools, monitoring and instrumentation techniques, perform packet analysis as well as anomaly detection.
• Should be able to define VLANs and do VLAN configuration.
• Should have hands-on installation experience of network equipment viz Switches (Core Data Centre switches, Distribution and Access switches), DC Routers, Access Points, ISE/NAC, Wi-Fi and other networking equipment, understanding of existing networking setup.
• Should be able to do the networking drawing, make design documents for the new projects, as well as drive the System Integrator team to achieve the project implementation objectives.
• Must have hands on knowledge in Cisco Nexus and ASR line of products and its configurations.
• Preferably hands on knowledge in HP Network (Routers/Switches) products and its configurations.
• Preferably hands on knowledge in Global and Server load balancers, WAN optimisers, VPN product configurations, etc
• Should provide solution to cater to our new requirements, prepare RFP, drive the team (System Integrator) to troubleshoot all network related problems/issues (all active components) through remotely (or) at on site & guide the team in closing the issues following best practices, process with in timeline following the security standards set from time to time.
• Knowledge on Check point, Paulo Alto, Fortigate firewall product configurations would be added advantage. However should overlap with Security team to overcome the issues and ensure business continuity is achieved.
• Must have working knowledge of IPSEC with implementation experience.
• Good vendor Management skills and capability to drive the SLA s agreed by the vendors/SI/ OEM s.
• Worked in environment following strict ITIL process, procedures and practises.
• Handle the project management aspects for setting up new IT infrastructure (LAN & WAN) infrastructure.
• Monitor and evaluate network project activities to ensure business requirements are met.
• Knowledge of designing the IP telephony / Voice networks to meet the business requirements and manage the operations.
• Configure and manage network implementations which includes planning, designing, testing, implementing leased lines / PRI / BRI, meet the time constraints to achieve the business requirements.
• Work with the teams from other verticals and support the day to day network related tasks (server, storage, security, application, business, etc)
• Review Bid / BoM of the technical bid vis--vis GSTN tender requirements, validate its completeness, compliances.
• Participate in capacity planning with respect to network and security requirements.
• Support implementation and troubleshoot post-implementation network issues.
• Should be capable of handling the 24*7 network operations and support the NOC activities.
• Should be capable of managing the Data Center and review the BMS parameters periodically
• Assist all domains (Server, Storage, Security, etc) related to data center networking activities. Drive the SI team / vendors to achieve the business objectives.
• Develop and review test plans, implementation plans, and project timelines for various projects.
• Stay abreast of how technology infrastructures are currently impacting and driving business.
• Conduct DR drill of network equipment, failover test network products / leased lines, etc.
• Ensure back up of all network device configuration and monitoring of all network devices.
• Perform vendor management, SLA management, ITIL management & process, etc.

Others

• Good Communication Skill (both verbal and written) is must.

• B.E./ B.Tech professional with 7 years of experience.
• Preferably certifications in OEM s network devices / technologies.
• Thorough hands on experience on at least 2 network devices such as core network, core switch
• Overall experience of 7 years in this relevant role.

Must be able to:

• Mentoring technical staff (System integrator/ within GSTN.
• Communicate technical issues to technical and non-technical audience.
• Motivating technical teams, work with various teams and manage IT partner and vendor teams to achieve the objectives.
