Roles and ResponsibilitiesRole: Manager/SM DevOpsReporting to VP (IT Operations)Function: TechnologyGrade: G6/G7Role Description:
• Responsible for design, implementation, and continuous improvement on automated CI/CD infrastructure and collaborate with MSP/ OEMs for GST system Operations.
• Displays technical skills and oversight of implementation and deployment planning, system integration, ongoing data validation processes, quality assurance, delivery, operations, and sustainability of technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Strategy Design and Implementation
• Defining & developing DevOps framework on Private, Public, Hybrid Cloud platform along with designing, developing, and implementing software integrations
• Container orchestration such as Kubernetes, Open Shift, Swarm Clusters etc. to deploy and manage applications in containers
• Converting functional objectives into Technology solutions
• Management of DevOps toolchains such as Docker, Rancher, Kubernetes, Bit bucket
• Deliver best in class operations tooling & practices, all the way from provisioning, building & managing the prod infrastructure.
Technical Need Analysis:
• Deliver best in class operations tooling & practices, all the way from provisioning, building & managing the prod infrastructure for GST System
• Develop/Implement tools to identify production infrastructure risks, monitor the infrastructure and improve availability, scalability and performance of the environment.
• Handling End-to-end DevOps projects with modern tools encompassing both Applications and Infrastructure
• Assist in identifying critical architectural & infrastructure gaps in the security of the Information Technology environment and support in recommending solutions to solve potential problems.
DevOps Framework:
• Facilitating the development Process, technologies and operational requirements for GST Project.
• Deploying APIs and micro services into Docker or Kubernetes clusters using DevSecOps Pipelines, containers security.
• Work closely with peer architects in the Platform Solutions group to design, enhance, and ensure adherence to core architecture standards
• Collaborate with MSP to establish continuous build environments to speed up software development.
• Automation service provisioning and middleware configuration.
• Participate in Application/ Project design and ensure that the Application Integration/ Value Added/ Other Applications design is in conformance with the Enterprise Security and Infrastructure Architecture
• Assessing and design code branching, merging, and tagging strategies on GitHub and Git
People Development:
• Take an active role in recruitment of incumbents into own team
• Conduct formal performance appraisal and provide developmental feedback for own team
• Identify training needs of subordinates and provide functional training inputs through internal and external sources
Others:
• Ensure timely preparation of MIS and Status Updates for circulation to the Top Management and other authorities as may be required
• Provide technical support to the business/Vendor/ Consultant Teams etc. as & when required
Key Attributes & Skills:
• B.E/B.Tech/MCA Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• 5+ years experience as a DevOps role.
• Expert/Professional level Certification on at least one public cloud provider (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Designing, building, testing, automating, monitoring and supporting significant components within a modern digital service platform in production environments.
• In depth understanding of micro-services architectures, running instances of applications or services, hosting in containers
• Experience with main architecture components Kubernetes, Open shift, clusters, pods etc.
• Understanding of Deployments & configuration of Docker Master/Worker nodes, containers, Pods and its lifecycle management.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of setting up production, staging and dev environments on AWS/OpenStack.
• Configuration and provisioning management tools like Ansible, Terraform, Python, Bash
• Infrastructure Management & Monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, Splunk
• Production Deployments and continuous integration using CICD Pipeline ( Bitbucket, SVN, Git/GitHub, Jenkins)
• Working knowledge of databases and SQL (MySQL, Hadoop, Kafka, MSSQL)
• Understanding of multiple back-end languages (e.g. Java, Go Lang, Python) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Node.js)
• Knowledge of enterprise data formats and integration patterns - REST, API Gateways, Pub/Sub, XML, JSON.
• Infrastructure experience of Linux, Network, Storage, Load Balancers, Containers
• Ability to work in a vendor driven environment.
