Job Description

    Key Purpose of the Job (Position Summary) Managing Innovations related to structures. Scanning, analyzing, developing and effectively implementing new technology related to design and construction of structures. Managing Peer review and value engineering related to structural design of buildings and other civil structures. Focus area is to implement technologies which will reduce labour dependency like precast and prefabrication Key Accountabilities
    • Implementation of new technology which reduces construction cost and time and/or improve construction time, safety, quality and sustainability.
    • Improving automation in construction
    • Ensuring safety, serviceability and constructability of structures by managing peer review
    • Reduction in cost of structures by value engineering
    Key Functions & Responsibilities Strategic
    • Setting up and managing innovation processes related to structures
    • Establishing and managing Strategic tie up with research institutes and educational institutes to implement innovation
    Operational
    • Scanning for innovation ideas from supply and demand side
    • Analysis innovation ideas and shortlist for implementation
    • Presentation of shortlisted innovation idea
    • Conducting pilot project, getting feedback and improving idea for implementation
    • Facilitating implementation of successful innovation at project sites
    • Analysis patentability of successful innovation and managing patents
    Developmental
    • Developing, guiding and mentoring innovation team
    • Developing working relationship with research and education institutes
    • Publishing technical papers related to successful innovations
    • Managing patents related to successful innovations
    Internal & External Interactions Internal : Project sites, Designs External : Research institutes, Educational institutes, Technology provider and vendors Education & Experience Requirement
    • Post graduate in structural engineering
    • 8-10 years of experience in design of structures with very frequent site interaction or site working for some years
    • Education related to innovation or creativity preferred.
    • Experience of managing innovation
    • Proven innovation skills in past jobs
    • Expert in structural design of building and other civil structures
    • Deep knowledge of state of the art in structural engineering and building construction in India and abroad
    • Work experience in precast concrete construction
