Job Description

    The Network Ops Control Specialist is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and debugging alerts for our Helix Cloud Systems. This individual takes ownership of alerts and makes sound judgment regarding the severity of the situation. Uses well defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate actions to resolve monitored alerts.Primary Roles and Responsibilities:Helix Cloud Service Monitoring using BMC Software Tooling via Alerting systemsPrimary point of contact for impact situations and escalation for wider team engagement.Ensure communications are taking place on regular intervals to customer/internal/external stakeholders.Provide Tier 1 level troubleshooting and isolation of application events.Ability to quickly assess the business and technical situation and enabled to make decisionsAdept at both English verbal and written communicationEnsure accuracy for all scheduled reports within Operations and proactively.Initiate corrective actions by opening tickets in the queue of the appropriate teams.Team player which includes mentoring and knowledge sharing across the team.Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and offer/create viable recommendations/options.QUALIFICATION:BS/BE degree in CS/EE or equivalent experienceExcellent written and verbal communication skillsMinimum of 1-3 years experience in a cloud-based or IT industry equivalent.Emphasis primarily Kubernetes-K8, Rancher, Linux, Database MSSQL and Postgres.DESIRED AND REQUIRED SKILLS:Troubleshooting skills with considerable depth and experienceExperience working at a Help Desk, Technical Call Center, NOC or equivalent environment.Knowledge and understanding of BMC-Remedy Products is an added advantageDirectory Service/LDAP, specifically Active Directory/SAML but not essentialNetworking experience desired: working knowledge of TCP/IP, SNMP, firewall, proxy, etc.Knowledge and understanding of BMC-Remedy Products is an added advantageITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) foundation certification is a plus.,
