Job Description

    To manage the allotted program through the Syngene way of execution to achieve the desired level of portfolio performance, revenue, profitability, and customer satisfaction in collaboration with the cross-functional teams and grounded in the Syngene values of Integrity, Excellence and Professionalism. Role Accountabilities:
    • Adhere to safe practices and procedures for self and the team members; contribute to the development of procedures, practices, and systems that ensure safe operations and compliance with the company s integrity and quality standards and hold self and the team members accountable for the achievement of safety goals
    • Champion effective Environment, Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHSS) practices for the company and oversee compliance with those practices; play an active leadership role in monitoring and verifying safety performance through GEMBA walks and other safety-led activities; govern and review safety metrics at an appropriate frequency; ensure all mandatory assigned training related to data integrity, health, and safety measures are completed on time by all members of the team, including self
    • Foster a corporate culture that promotes an environment, health, safety, and sustainability (EHSS) mindset as well as the highest standards of quality, integrity, and compliance; model compliance with Syngene s quality standards at all times
    • Put people at the heart of our success by providing clear, active leadership defined by the Syngene leadership framework setting high standards of people management, career planning, and talent retention as a priority
    • Build a high-performing team through strong external hiring and internal talent development; scale the team in line with the company s growth objectives; drive awareness of the best practices across the operating unit
    • Contribute to building global standard processes and metrics to drive execution excellence across the company to achieve the desired level of performance and performance trajectory; drive efficiencies and speed, proactively manage risks, and rapidly resolve issues for the operating unit
    • Contribute to the creation of and maintain an integrated, dynamic, and transparent online infrastructure to enable the above processes and support data-driven decision-making for the operating unit through coaching, mentoring, and monitoring the team members as needed
    • Foster a culture of cross-functional collaboration across the operating unit by promoting we before I, shared vision, and common metrics
    • Provide advice to the operating unit leaders on strategy, planning, and decision-making as and when needed, including creation and execution of operating plans; build a strong relationship with key internal stakeholders; lead high-impact organizational initiatives by ensuring effective stakeholder management and robust planning;effectively collaborate with peers leading to smooth execution and seamless customer experience
    • Build a strong relationship with key customers and resolve critical escalations promptly by facilitating required action across the company; track, report, and understand the customer sentiment for the portfolio and take measures to improve the same
    Specific requirements for this role Education and Experience
    • Advanced degree in disciplines relevant to the life sciences and business management, with a globally recognized Portfolio/Program/Project Management credential
    • Twelve years of relevant experience from global CRO/CDMO/Product/Services/Consulting, with at least five years in a leadership position and a current portfolio of over USD 25 million in a multi-cultural setting
    • Exceptions can be made for candidates with extraordinary credentials with commensurate adjustments in job grade

    • Comprehensive knowledge of project management disciplines
    • Comprehensive knowledge of using project management and operations software and analytics (preferably Microsoft Project and Project Online), and analytics using Microsoft Excel (preferably with exposure to AI/ML)
    • Thorough knowledge of strategy formulation and implementation, sales and operations planning, portfolio analysis, decision-making, and risk management, preferably with exposure to the integration of operational excellence and project management methodologies
    • Thorough knowledge of CRO/CDMO/Pharma/Biotech industry environment and strategic marketing; up to-date awareness of competition and profession
    • Fair understanding of financial valuation, value drivers, and decision-making; knowledge of economic modeling, simulation, and analysis
    • Demonstrated experience leading and motivating teams with empathy in a fast-paced, innovative, dynamic environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient; ability to resolve conflicts in a win-win manner
    • Demonstrated experience in building, maintaining, and nurturing relationships with partners and external stakeholders; understanding of global culture map and ability to adapt to diverse settings
    • Fluent in English, with excellent verbal and written communication and facilitation skills; proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint
    • Excellent influencing skills with senior management and other stakeholders in a matrix organization; collaborative team player with the ability to influence irrespective of hierarchies
