Principal Software Engineer - Advanced Cluster SecurityWith a growing product and a strong mission, you ll be able to make an immediate impact on our offering, APIs, architecture , and engineering processes. With Kubernetes adoption rapidly growing, the team constantly faces new challenges like simplifying our customer deployments, improving performance to enable scaling across multiple dimensions, or even building a cloud-native managed service flavour of RHACS. Through all of this, you will ensure our offering just works for those getting started with Kubernetes and experts alike.We are a fully remote team with colleagues working from different countries across Europe and are looking for engineers who thrive in an environment with a lot of autonomy. Successful applicants must reside in a country where Red Hat is registered to do business. What you will do
• Write high-quality maintainable Go code using a principled, design-document-first approach
• Collaborate in a team committed to continuous improvement on tech, design, APIs, testing, and process
• Solve technical challenges on topics like efficient data collection, event processing, storage, and persistence
• Own the entire life cycle through design, implementation, and maintenance
• Assist the Customer Support team in troubleshooting and resolving customer issues
• Build a personal brand through technical blog posts and visibility in the open-source community
What you will bring
• You have a strong software engineering background with multiple years of experience in delivering quality software
• You are open to learn new technologies, programming languages, and concepts; we work in Go, but we care much more about your general engineering skills
• You enjoy delivering high-quality software with considerations for design, performance and scalability
• You are passionate about the users perspective and want to build a product to be loved
• You have prior experience designing extensible and maintainable APIs
• You thrive in a collaborative environment while working with various stakeholders and subject matter experts
Some things that will make you stand out
• Experience with scalable distributed systems
• Knowledge of and experience with Kubernetes
• Expertise or interest in the security domain
• Contributions to open source projects
• Experience with cloud-native application development
