QA Automation ArchitectJob DescriptionThe Quality Assurance Automation Architects role is to design, build, test and deploy effective testautomation solutions. This role will work closely with the QA Manager and relevant stakeholders todefine strategy and process, bringing automation in line with existing functional aspects of the test effort.This will include the responsibility for the creation of an automation framework and the execution andmaintenance of automated scripts. The position will automate as much of the testing effort as possiblewith a minimum set of code/scripts to increase test efficiency using automated systems.Duties & Responsibilities:Implement and develop automated test practices to effectively automate the testing effort. Design and create automated test scripts to address functional, sanity and regression testing bycreating an automation framework. Work with the QA Manager and other stakeholders team to define processes and strategiesassociated with automation. Participate in Agile Sprint planning sessions to obtain requirements for design or update ofexisting automated testing scripts. Ability to analyze and translate requirements anddevelopment stories into test scripts to ensure complete test coverage Analyze the testing mandate and have a clear understanding of how automation can be appliedto help meet this mandate. Determine what should be automated and in what sequence to get the maximum return on theautomation investment. Determine how automation should be built from QA test design requirements. Analyze documentation and technical specifications of any new application under deployment orconsideration to determine its intended functionality. Identify, analyze, and document problems encountered with automation scripts. Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope/delivery dates. Create and execute test plans and automated scripts that will determine optimal applicationperformance according to specifications. Ensure that testing activities allow applications to meet business requirements and systemsgoals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify existing or potential issues. Collaborate with software/systems personnel in application testing, such as system, unit,regression, load and acceptance testing methods. Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholdersand management. Analyze formal test results in order to discover and report any defects, bugs, errors,configuration issues, and interoperability flaws. Any other QA/QC requirement as directed by management.Required Skills:Strong understanding of testing and automation best practices Ability to create automated scripts beyond record and playback. Proven experience in functional, regression and cross-browser testing Should have knowledge on cross browser testing (Edge, Chrome and Safari) Should have thorough understanding and experience of web-based security threats and how totest for them Willingness to learn new technologies, approaches and test tool Excellent communication and documentation skills 8+ years of overall experience in Testing 3+ years of experience in Selenium, Cucumber, Gherkin or similar tools for automationtesting of web applications Good knowledge of Behaviour-Driven development testing Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced and team-based environment Motivated self-starter and able to work independently with minimum supervision BE / B Tech / M Tech/ MCA /MSc in Computer Science or Engineering Experience developing automation tools for financial industry a plus Experience in Financial sector preferred but not required Experience in Agile development methodologies preferable using Jira. Experience in Adaptavist, Zephyr, Confluence a plusEducation/ExperienceBE / B Tech / M Tech/ MCA /MSc in Computer Science or Engineering8+ years of overall experience in Testing3+ years of experience in Selenium, Cucumber, Gherkin or similar tools for automationtesting of web applicationsJob Location: Chennai, New Delhi
