Job Description

The role will be responsible for managing logistics for production inventory and in order to fulfil demand with right quality, speed, cost within the available resources provided by TML and Service providers by complying to Safety, regulatory requirements and company policies Dimensions of the position . Must possess overall experience of 5-8 years in the Supply Chain management, and must possess sound technical knowledge of Logistics Operations of minimum 1-3 yearsEducationWork ExperienceKey Responsibilities: 1 Logistics Requirement Management Initiate negotiations with vendors from the existing network, basis of the material requirement proposed for the year Propose different types of transportation in order to enhance optimum costs For new requirements, validate requirement and accordingly prepare detailed Statement of Requirement in requisite format with all specifications Work with Head Logistics on Service provider identification, evaluation, assessment and Commercial closure Creation of Purchase Order against requirement TAT for SOR to PO 2 Logistics Services Management Tracking of all day-to-day shipments / deliveries of goods to and from plants and monitor status of the same Make arrangements for execution of e-bidding for finalization of Rates for a particular service Tracking and Monitoring of Service Level Agreements & Performances w.r.t. contracts / agreements / POs Escalate non-delivery or delay in logistics delivery and suggest mitigation action plan Create documentation for Transit Insurance Management and Recovery of Loss & Damage Logistics Reliability Service Provider Performance Loss/Damage of Goods 3 Vendor Management Develop Market Intelligence around Logistics services for Automotive Industry and Benchmarks Execute Sourcing process for Logistics / Transportation / Packaging Services from RFI to Commercial Settlement to Contracting Tracking and reporting of KPIs of Service Provider Performance Management Develop a strong relationship with Execution team of Logistics provider for smooth operations Logistics Cost per Veh Logistics Cost per Plant 4 Logistics Budgeting Prepare inputs for preparation of annual logistics budget plan basis of production volumes, parts procurement and supply strategy Analyse and drive the control the logistics budget in line with the targets Prepare paperwork and approval notes for premium freight approval from senior management, case to case basis Budget adherence Premium freight cost 5 Logistics Cost management Provide inputs for preparation of an annual budget for logistics and warehouse operations Certification of Logistic Cost during Sourcing of Components (TML / Vendor Transportation Cost) Accurate data management for Inbound Logistics Cost component at the time of Sourcing to measure Per Veh & Per Plant Logistics Spend performance Track and analyse all the cost elements like Remuneration to warehouse service provider, Packaging cost and Out-bound transportation cost Take action plan to reduce costs and control within the budgeted cost Logistics Cost per ComponentTata Motors Leadership CompetenciesCustomer Centricity - Anticipating, understanding and focusing efforts on meeting the customer (stakeholders) needs or expectationsDeveloping Self and Others - Recognizing continuous development is essential for success and taking steps to develop self and helping others to excelDriving Execution - Translating strategy into action and executionLeading by Example - Encouraging and following ethical standardsLeading Change - Recognizing the need for change, initiating and adapting to changeMotivating Self and Others - Inspiring teams and individuals,
