Job Description

    Position Summary with Job ResponsibilitiesPosition Summary: Transmission testing Engineer will be responsible for testing of Transmission System for passenger & commercial vehicle applications, both Manual and AMT versions. Scope involves performance and durability testing of transmission assembly, shift mechanism, drive shafts, Gear Shift Quality assessment on vehicle etc. Job Responsibilities a) Lead a team of supervisors. b) Conception and implementation of development tests. c) Meeting with ERC team, production team and supplier to discuss testing parameters and results. d) Prepare test plan for Transmission & Transmission aggregates (Gearbox / Transaxle aggregates). e) Plan and execute test as per test plan f) Comprehensively documenting test results in report. g) Derive the accelerated test schedule for the transmission and transmission aggregates from RLD. h) Evaluate and analyzing test results. i) Participate & give inputs in DFMEA, IPTV tracking & field correlation tests. j) Identifying root cause of malfunctions / failure during test or assembly of transmission. k) Co-ordinate with TML OTC for test rig and test item management. l) Development of new Test rig / Test setup for validation of Transmission aggregates. m) Visit to Supplier and TML OTC for aggregate development activities. n) Vehicle level data collection on PV & CV vehicles. o) IPR idea generation & filling through innovative thinking. p) Transmission processes development. q) Maintenance planning for Transmission test rigs. r) Prepare safety guideline & ensure safety in the related work area using tools like JSA etc. s) Coordinate with Transmission testing, Prototype and Transmission design team for the assembly of prototype transmission assembly as per plan.EducationDegree in Engineering in Automobile or MechanicalMaster of EngineeringWork Experience3 ~ 6 yearsPreferred Industry-Automotive (PV & CV), Automotive Ancillary, Machine tools etc.Tata Motors Leadership CompetenciesCustomer Centricity - Anticipating, understanding and focusing efforts on meeting the customer (stakeholders) needs or expectationsDeveloping Self and Others - Recognizing continuous development is essential for success and taking steps to develop self and helping others to excelDriving Execution - Translating strategy into action and executionLeading by Example - Encouraging and following ethical standardsLeading Change - Recognizing the need for change, initiating and adapting to changeMotivating Self and Others - Inspiring teams and individualsFunctional CompetenciesKnowledge of Transmission Systems in Automobiles (e.g. Clutch system, Gearbox, Transaxle system, Live axles, transfer case etc.), engine, torsional vibrations and powertrain NVH, order and frequency analysis, Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT)Exposure to transmission test rigs and test methodologies, kinematics, PLC, HydraulicsKnowledge of Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA), reliability testing, Reliability Check List (RCL) etcSound Knowledge on vehicle technologies, valid driving license, hands on experienece of vehicle drivingTags,
