Job Description

    Required for an overseas project involving green field and brown field fiber to the home deployment using GPON or alternative technology.Title: Senior Telecom Outside Plant Engineer (FTTH Specialist)We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Telecom Outside Plant Engineer with a specialization in Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) technology and a track record of 5 to 7 years in the telecommunications industry. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of FTTH network design, planning, and implementation, along with proficiency in key tools such as AutoCAD, FTTH planning software, GIS, Google Maps, Google Earth and other such tools.Responsibilities:1. Design and plan FTTH networks for residential and commercial properties, ensuring seamless connectivity, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.2. Conduct thorough site surveys and assessments to evaluate the feasibility of FTTH installations and identify potential deployment challenges.3. Develop comprehensive engineering drawings and documentation using AutoCAD, adhering to industry standards and ensuring accuracy in network design.4. Utilize FTTH planning software to create detailed network models, optimize fiber optic cable routes, optical budgeting, and enhance network performance.5. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, field technicians, and external contractors, to coordinate network deployments and installations.6. Perform in-depth network capacity planning, analysis, and forecasting to support the growth and expansion of FTTH services.7. Leverage GIS, Google Maps, Google Earth or other tools to visualize network infrastructure, analyze geographical data, and streamline network deployment strategies.8. Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements related to FTTH networks, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and guidelines.Requirements:1. Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.2. 5-7 years of hands-on experience in telecommunications engineering, with a focus on FTTH network design and deployment.3. Proficiency in AutoCAD for creating detailed network designs, schematics, and layouts.4. Demonstrated expertise in FTTH planning software for network modeling, optimization, and documentation.5. Strong familiarity with GIS tools, like Google Maps, and Google Earth for spatial data analysis, visualization, and network planning.6. Exceptional problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously or collaboratively within a team environment.7. Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with internal teams, external vendors, and stakeholders.8. Should be fully conversant with construction techniques like open trenching, burrowing, horizonatl drilling, installation of splicing and cable pulling chambers etc.9. Industry certifications related to FTTH design and engineering would be advantageous.10.
