Job Description

    Looking for a highly innovative and results-oriented individual who manages activities of the Assay Development Group while complying with the company quality and regulatory standards. In this role, the scientist will lead a team or can be independent contributor. The candidate will be involved in development and qualification of different types of cell based assays, ligand binding assay, Enzyme assays and providing support for the on-going client projects. Key Responsibilities:
    • Maintains compliance with all company policies and procedures.
    • Participates in strategic discussions, develops goals and objectives, develops strategies and timelines, and engages in cross-functional collaboration to meet the goals.
    • Responsible for planning and organizing work for development and qualification of cell-based methods, Ligand binding assays.
    • Responsible for detailed planning of sample analysis and execution of protocol-based studies.
    • Ensure completion of the work as per the project timelines and priorities.
    • Technical data presentation in departmental and functional meetings.
    • Writing and Review of electronic laboratory notebooks, raw data and study report to ensure data integrity as per ALCOA++ principles
    • Prepare reports and protocol of method development, qualification, and other studies for cell based assays.
    • Manage a team of 2-4 Scientists [includes goal setting, understanding developmental needs, assigning responsibilities in the laboratory activities, critically assessing their performance, and providing timely feedback]
    • Must be able to anticipate the project requirement and to give regular updates, escalating any major shortfall with respect to resources and timelines; Work independently with limited guidance.
    • Follow environment, health, and safety (EHS) requirements at all times in the workplace ensuring individual and lab/plant safety
    Educational Qualification:
    • PhD (life Sciences), MSc- Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Immunology; MS or MPharm
    Technical/functional Skills:
    • Skilled in mammalian cell culture and transfections. Experience in handling primary cells (PBMC, splenocytes, cardiomyocytes, etc.)
    • Subject area expertise and in-depth technical understanding of mechanism of action of molecule, cell based assays and ligand binding assays
    • Interacts with other members of the department in developing innovative technologies and assay platform.
    • In depth knowledge of handling multi-mode readers and Liquid handlers
    • Analyze and present data using excel, powerpoint and statistical tools (Graph Pad Prism, Excel-fit)
    • Experience and good knowledge on assay QC parameters
    Experience:
    • > 10 years of relevant experience post qualification (MSc); 1-2 yeasr with post-PhD.
    Behavioral Skills:
    • Willingness and flexibility to work in cross functional teams across technical domains
    • Ability to train other scientists in various techniques and methods.
    • Manages the assay team and contributes to employee engagement of the site
