Solutions ArchitectPosting Location : Location US-SC-RemotePosting date 3 days ago(2/11/2022 6:39 AM)Job ID 94212 Workday ID R-022331 Category Solution Architecture About the job The Red Hat North America Public Sector (NAPS) team is looking for a Solutions Architect for the Army pod to join us. In this role, youll need to be an experienced technology professional with communication skills. You should love technology and be up to date on the industry, following emerging trends and having an outlook on where the industry is going 6-18 months out and how that impacts the Army and Justice customers. As a Solutions Architect, you will be valued as someone who successfully connects technical and business functions and has extensive experience managing customer relationships from presales to implementation. Prior experience with the Army is preferred. This position is open to internal candidates only. Outside candidates, including referrals, are not being accepted at this time. What you will do
• Serve as a primary technical expert for hybrid cloud technologies within the Sales team
• Lead the gathering of architecture for and design and presentation of solutions to meet the needs of our prospective customers
• Conduct regular demonstrations of Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, and other Red Hat cloud suite technologies
• Guide and support presales pilots, demonstrations, workshops, proofs of concepts, evaluations, and benchmarks
• Provide timely and accurate technical responses to presales requests
• Actively engage and support prospective customers in technical evaluations of Red Hats cloud suite offerings
• Develop and maintain tools to support the Sales and Marketing teams, including demonstrations and presentation materials
• Contribute to building best practices among peers in sales and engineering
• Ensure that revenue quota, deployment, and service objectives are met while maintaining a high level of satisfaction among existing and prospective customers
• Research and write the responses to technical sections of requests for information (RFIs) and requests for proposals (RFPs)
• Form relationships with technical customer associates to identify new opportunities
What you will bring
• 8+ years of combined technical sales and presales experience in the government IT industry
• Excellent leadership, technical, and executive engagement skills
• Proven experience in technical selling, competitive outlook or forecasting, and understanding of end-to-end sales processes
• Solid technical background as an IT professional and ability to relate and earn credibility with a technical team as an expert
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with diverse senior executives and program owners
• Understanding of hybrid cloud business models, DevOps, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), containers, app modernization, cloud app migration, datacenter modernizations, cloud migrations, and partner ecosystem
• Willingness to travel up to 60% in line with Red Hats COVID-19 guidelines as customer or partner needs dictate
• Practical expertise in cloud infrastructure (including managed services) and application platforms is a big plus
• Advanced computer science or engineering degree with a specialization in networking, communications, and extensive engagement in open source communities and industry forums is a plus
