Job Description

    The Sr. Manager is responsible for managing the end-to-end Promotional Operations process from initial Promo Set up through execution and post-event execution reporting. This person will work closely with PPCOE team members and merchants to design and implement tactics, processes and best practices that will result in an optimal, clear and error-free guest experience while engaging in our promotions that will help drive and support broader affordability perception and growth objectives for Target. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Sr Manager is responsible for managing, optimizing and reporting on promotion execution across the enterprise to maximize process efficiency, standardization and improved guest and team member outcomes. This team member will lead a team of Promo Specialists to govern and execute promotion set up and adjustments at the enterprise level. This role will communicate with the TII and Minneapolis teams to understand the promo strategy and execution process in order to improve execution, error rates, efficiency and guide their team to deliver improved outcomes.
    • Partner with Minneapolis team to design capability transfer and stabilization
    • Lead the reporting of promo execution to provide necessary visibility to weekly activity.
    • Troubleshoot systematic roadblocks and recommend mitigation solutions to drive improved promo outcomes for team members and guests.
    • Develop approach to identify standardization, implementation, and error/change reduction
    • Onboard new team members to ensure proper skills are developed to implement promo execution
    • Train, lead, coach and develop a team of Promo Specialists
    • Align work, set priorities, and establish and track desired metrics to ensure business and team goals are met.
    • Develop team through on-the-job experiences, relevant feedback, visibility and recognition.
    • Career planning for team members through structured and purposeful 1x1 engagement
    • Create succession planning for critical roles
    • Drive team level initiatives that motivate and engage TMs and drive TM retention
    • Leverage communication skills to create a culture of engagement and trust in the Promo execution journey throughout enterprise.
    • Use strong critical thinking and communication skills to provide strategic direction for long term Promo execution vision and prioritization of projects.
    • Utilize strong executional skills to manage release of new systems through effective testing, auditing, and rollout planning.
    • Work closely with IVY engineering teams in the development of the system to automate, streamline and improve inputs/outputs
    REPORTING/WORKING RELATIONSHIPS :Reports to Director of Promotions.Works closely with all disciplines of Promotions/PPCOE team, (VP, Directors, Leaders, Managers, Analysts, Product team) and Merchant partners. Partner with support areas throughout the company, including Promo Marketing, Enterprise Signing, Site Merchandising, Technology, Finance, Item, etc. ABOUT YOU:
    • Four-year degree or equivalent experience
    • 8+ years of total experience; 5+ years of business and merchandising experience
    • Prior people leadership experience required
    • Strong team leadership and ability to engage and inspire others
    • Entrepreneurial spirit with strong analytical, decision-making, project management, planning and organizational skills.
    • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and strategic thinking skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maximize relationships.
