Job Description

Responsibilities :

Support restoration monitoring through GIS and remote sensing.

Use data analytics, GIS, radar remote sensing images and techniques to develop methodology and analysis for land use and tree gain.

Under guided supervision, design sampling framework and field data collection.

Assist and support field data collection.

Read and synthesize evidence from the literature to refine spatial analysis and techniques.

Produce high quality maps.

Qualifications :

Master s degree in GIS, natural sciences, environmental sciences, agriculture or forestry.

1 or 2 years of experience in GIS, specifically radar remote sensing and data analysis.

Knowledge and past experience in tools such as ArcGIS, SNAP and radar remote sensing applications is preferable.

Demonstrated experience in land use analysis and use of open source satellite images.

Applied knowledge of Sentinel-1 and open source satellite data is an advantage.

Knowledge of landscape restoration, forestry and agriculture is essential.

Ability to synthesize and present complex information in a clear and concise manner, suitable for diverse audiences.

Ability to communicate clearly and coherently, particularly in formal and informal writing.

Excellent writing skills in English.

Responsible, self-motivated, curious and efficient.

Ability to take initiative, brainstorm, think creatively and work under pressure with tight deadlines.
