Roles and ResponsibilitiesNational Agriculture Market (eNAM) is a pan-India electronic trading portal which networks the existing APMC mandis to create a unified national market for agricultural commodities. Small Farmers Agribusiness Consortium (SFAC) is the lead agency for implementing eNAM under the aegis of Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India.The mission of e-NAM is to integration of the Agricultural Productse & Livestock Market Committees (APMCs) across the country through a common online market platform to facilitate pan-India trade in agriculture commodities, providing better price discovery through transparent auction process based on quality of produce along with timely online payment.This role would provide thought leadership and envision innovations through effective use of digital technologies. This position in SFAC aims to ideate various new initiatives that are aligned with the vision of the Ministry. This role is meant to provide strategic & tactical insights to the Leadership at SFAC to enhance value to internal & external stakeholders. This role will work closely with MD, SFAC. Prior experience in working for/with Government is a must.Key Responsibilities
• Create innovation and thought leadership by synthesizing input from various sources (industry, government, employees, associations, etc)
• Identification of prioritized SFAC specific challenges and opportunities followed by articulation of proposed solutions
• Analyse industry trends and provide inputs for company activities. Share best practices around the world
• Provide leadership on methodology development, analytical approaches, and insight synthesis on the leading edge and current digital and e-markets in the commodities domain
• Develop, communicate, and promote internally and externally the core industry practices and their value proposition
• Partner with internal cross-functional teams on strategy and execution. Positively challenge teams to drive innovation and improvement
• Organization of relevant committees, balancing diverse interests and views, developing short-term and long-term project plans, guiding various projects to be on track, and implementing communications and adoption strategies
• Participation in other industry events speaking as well as organizing to promote SFAC initiatives, gather industry input into SFAC priorities, etc
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Ability to summarize key issues and opportunities
• Good understanding of commodities downstream value chain (marketing and distribution)
• Deep understanding of the e-commerce / e-marketplace industry
• Understanding of the Agriculture industry would be an advantage
• Ability to conduct a stakeholder assessment, assess the industry landscape and identify key opportunities/challenges by priority
• Knowledge of emerging digital technologies RPA, ML, NLP, and AI etc. and their applicability to specific stakeholder issues
• Ability to construct a narrative and communicate that in verbal and written format
• Ability to research and synthesize issues from a range of sources and stakeholders
• Ability to brainstorm with the team to improve the rigor of company strategy
• Demonstrated capacity to convene, manage and lead large groups ensuring all voices are heard but with an ability to drive to consensus and action
• Good understanding of agriculture downstream value chain (marketing and distribution)
• Works effectively with others in and across the organization to accomplish team goals
• Able to manage complex relationships and juggle priorities
• Strong problem solving, analytical, project management, and planning skills
• Has strong relationship and influencing skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required
Required Qualifications:
• Graduate in the field of Agriculture Science or Engineering or Computer Science
• Prior experience in working for/with Government is a must.
• Post-Graduation in Management or Food and Agri-Business from a reputed institute would be an advantage
• Minimum 25+ years of work experience in relevant field
• Proven track record of driving technology led transformation programs
