These include the development and support of business applications that underpin our revenue, operational, compliance, finance, legal, customer service and marketing functions. The broader technology organisation incorporates Infrastructure services that the firm relies on to operate on a day to day basis including data centre, networks, proximity services, security, voice, incident management and remediation.Job Description and Key ResponsibilitiesThis is a challenging opportunity for Database developers to work in WI team alongside system / business analysts, database administrators and business project teams.
• Work with Delivery Managers and System/Business Analysts and other subject matter experts to understand the requirements
• Application development to satisfy the business requirements using Oracle PL/SQL, Unix shell scripting, Scheduling - Control-M, Informatica PowerCenter
• Produce Technical specifications, unit test cases for the interfaces under development
• Good analysis and problem resolution skills
• Provide support through all phases of implementation
• Adhere to the source code control policies of the project
• Implement and use appropriate Change Management processes
• Develop capability to implement Business Intelligence tools.
Experience and Qualifications
• Must have technical skills:
  • 4-6 years of strong Oracle SQL/PLSQL development experience in Oracle 11g / 12c environment
  • Experience in UNIX and PERL scripting
  • Experience in ETL processes using Informatica Power Centre
  • Job scheduling tools (Control-M preferred)
  • Experience of Source Control Tools (SVN preferred), CI tools like Teamcity, continuous integration and build/release automation practices
  • Exposure to reporting tools like SAP BOBI ,Tableau, OBIEE
• Good to have technical skills:
  • Exposure to Sybase database
  • Exposure to Data Warehouse, Datamart and ODS concepts
  • Exposure to Agile (Scrum) development practices, testing automation using BDD / TDD concepts
  • Knowledge of data normalisation and Oracle performance optimisation techniques
  • Experience in Oracle utilities like AWR, OEM
  • Experience in Data virtualization tools like Denodo
  • Experience in Informatica Data Quality implementation
• Functional
  • Experience of working within either Investment Management, Wealth Management or Investment Banking organisations and broad base business process, application and technology architecture experience
  • Experience with data distribution and access concepts with ability to utilise these concepts in realising a proper physical model from a conceptual one
  • Strong interpersonal, communication skills
  • Ability to work closely with cross functional teams
  • Openness to work as a part of a team engaged in development as well as production support activities.
