• The Analyst Research Library provides a wide range of research and information services in support of multiple investment management groups around the world and their global equity and fixed income products. Services are customized and personalized for each portfolio group and each individual client
• The analyst works closely with portfolio managers and research analysts of different portfolio groups to understand their specific needs and develop relevant services. Using a variety of financial research and analytical databases and third-party systems, the analyst conducts secondary research and analyses of companies, industries, countries and investment topics, and synthesizes filtered information into personalized information packages, datasheets and charts based on provided requirements
• The analyst serves as a sector expert and provides sector related services including industry news and trends, industry research and charts. The analyst is also responsible for selecting content for the assigned industries and topics of the library s global research portal
• The analyst collaborates with the library team, other departments in the organization, and information vendors and brokers outside the company to obtain the best research, information and data

What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Analyst - Research Library in Global Research Library group

• Conduct secondary research, qualitative and quantitative, on companies, sectors/industries, countries, and investment topics.
• Use multiple financial research and analytical databases and third-party systems such as FactSet, Bloomberg, Thomson One Analytics, Factiva, LexisNexis and other.
• Research, obtain, analyze, filter, synthesize and format information from multiple sources into customized and personalized products and services based on specific requirements from research analysts and portfolio managers.
• Develop and maintain sector expertise for the assigned sectors and industries and provide industry specific services to clients and expert advice to team members.
• Communicate effectively and on a regular basis with research analysts and portfolio managers in various global locations to ensure full understanding of research requirements, manage expectations and provide relevant results.
• Research, analyze, select and publish industry and topic related content for the library s research portal.
• Contribute to library chartbooks, literature guides and other special services.
• Participate in projects, team meetings and trainings
• Other duties, as assigned

, *What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful

• Graduate/Postgraduate in business-related field, or equivalent experience
• Candidates with PG/MBA/master s in finance/Economics are preferred
• Experience in financial services, investment management industry is a plus
• Minimum two years relevant experience on Information Services, Investment, or business research
• Knowledge of financial markets, Mutual Fund Industry, and various security types
• Knowledge of online searching techniques necessary to analyze, retrieve, collate, and synthesize financial and statistical data, broker research, company filings, news and other types of information.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

• Familiarity with business/financial research systems such as Thomson Research, Thomson One Analytics, FactSet, LexisNexis, Factiva and Bloomberg
• Ability to work under high pressure and in fast-paced environment
• Ability to analyze, collate and understand requirements and achieve effective deliverables
• Ability to organize, prioritize work and deliver expected results within established timelines
• Ability to analyze and resolve problems
• Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
• Knowledge of proper English usage, grammar, spelling and vocabulary.
• Ability to write source annotations and summaries.
• Ability to communicate and explain research results.

Licenses and certifications:

• Any certification on information services, research services preferred, but not essential
• Any certification from financial markets such as NSE, BSE, IMFI, preferred, but not essential

• Ability to work with both qualitative and quantitative info/data
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to research relevancy
• Understand industry indicators, drivers, competitive landscape, and valuations parameters
• Demonstrate ability to research, investigate, analyze, reconcile, and evaluate information and data.
• Identifies trends and developments in competitive environments and presents findings
• Strong analytical skills, ability to resolve simple and complex issues quickly and accurately
• Evaluate and validate info/data against multiple data sources
• Ability to organize, prioritize work and deliver expected results within the stipulated deadline
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Interest in learning new tools, processes, and systems.

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience or certification on financial databases or power-user of FactSet and Bloomberg for presentation and research support is highly desirable
• Secondary research expertise with one or two sectors
