Job Description

Role Summary/Purpose: This role will be responsible for providing timely and effective oversight of Synchrony s ventures investments and M&A opportunities, along with new and renewing programs across the platforms. We are seeking a seasoned professional with experience in wholesale credit, private equity, or portfolio management. The individual will also assist the Portfolio Monitoring and Analytics leader with quarterly dashboard, monitor industry and market related news/events, and help facilitate Credit Risk Subcommittee meetings and Watch List reporting.This role will be based in the Hyderabad hub in India and will functionally support the Credit Risk Management Oversight organization.Essential Responsibilities:

  • Support Credit Review Leader(s) in performing independent assessments of credit reviews and soundness of proposals.
  • Evaluate M&A opportunities
    • Assess risks and considerations highlighted as part of the cross functional due diligence process
    • Assess reasonableness of enterprise valuation models, including growth assumptions
    • Alignment to Synchrony s corporate strategy
  • Evaluate Venture investments
    • Assess investment rationale along with underlying risks and considerations in connection with the deal
    • Validate cash burn and cash runway calculations
    • Oversight of the Ventures portfolio monitoring reports
  • Review new credit requests and renewals
    • Evaluate loss rate assumptions, partner health, risks and mitigants provided by the First Line Credit team.
    • Review transactions for compliance with Risk Appetite Statement.
    • Ensure CCAR stress test parameters are appropriately applied and validate sensitivity results.
  • Assist the Portfolio Monitoring team with quarterly economic dashboard, facilitation of CRSC meetings and Watch List reporting.
  • Manage stakeholder relationship with Corporate Strategy, M&A, Credit, Finance, and other functional teams.
  • Participate in platform Working Group and IRSC discussions for oversight of all deal activity.
  • Participate in ad-hoc and special projects as applicable.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor s degree and 8 years of work experience in Capital Markets, Credit Underwriting, or financial analysis.
  • Exceptional MS Office skills/experience (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Experience with enterprise valuations, growth forecast, capital structure/balance sheet analysis.

Desired Characteristics:
  • Financial Services industry experience preferably in wholesale credit, private equity, or portfolio management.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing risk/business data with the ability to distill large amounts of information down to the critical areas of focus.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to prepare clear communication and confidently present meaningful analysis to senior and executive management.
  • Must be able to work to tight deadlines with multiple priorities in US eastern standard time zone.
