Job summaryAmazons Bad Actor Disincentives (BAD) team works to ensure that bad actors cannot profit from using our services to abuse Customers, Selling Partners or our Store.We are looking for a creative, experienced Business analyst to help us prevent bad actors from adversely impacting our ability to delight Customers by translating analytic insights into concrete, actionable recommendations on product / process improvements and measure business impact. From Day 1, you will be challenged with a variety of tasks, ranging from data pipeline monitoring to building metrics, solving business problems using analytical techniques, identify anomalies, trends, and opportunities to impact key performance metrics, generating & implementing insightful recommendations. You will interact with Investigators, Risk Managers, Product owners and technical teams to gather requirements and offer solutions.Key job responsibilitiesAn ideal candidate for this role: Will have relevant experience in data analytics working with large data sets and to extract and transform data using various tools and technologies Will transform data into actionable business information, and will make it readily accessible to stakeholders worldwide Will use data to support ideas, drive actionable outcomes, and provide unique ways to present data and information in an easy to consume format Will be passionate about finding root causes, trends, and patterns and how they impact business. Will draw inferences and conclusions, create dashboards and visualizations of processed data Will have excellent business and communication skills to be able to work with product owners to understand key business questions to build reports that enable product owners to answer those questions quickly and accurately Will be very comfortable juggling competing priorities and handling ambiguity Will thrive in an agile and fast-paced environment on highly visible projects and initiatives, Functional Ability to utilize high-judgement decision making and identify new/unique trends in the data using non-traditional data points Analytical skills has ability to ask right questions, analyze data, draws conclusion by making appropriate assumptions Demonstrated ability to work independently Ability to present information professionally & concisely with supporting data Work effectively & independently in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines Ability to engage with cross-functional teams for implementation of project/program requirementsTechnical 1+ years of experience in a business analyst, data analyst or statistical analysis role Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights Experience in working with databases, ETL and SQL in a business environment Demonstrated use of at least one of the analytical packages & query languages such as SAS, R, Python and SQL Experience in developing requirements and formulating business metrics for reporting, familiarity with data visualization tools, e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, Quicksight Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders. Experience communicating analytical outcomes through written communication to both business and technical teams Experience writing high quality, maintainable SQL on large datasets. Experience working extensively with large scale databases and data warehouse Experience with ETL, Amazon Redshift and other AWS technologies Analytical ability to break down complex problems, and a strong will to get things done and deliver results Excellent organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management, and meeting deadlines
