Job Description

The Amazon Vision Operations Center (AVOC) team is an initiative, which remotely handles exceptions in the Amazon Robotic Fulfillment Centers Globally. AVOC seeks to complement automated vision based decision-making technologies by providing remote human support for the subset of tasks which require higher cognitive ability and cannot be processed through automated decision making with high confidence. This team provides end-to-end solutions through inbuilt competencies of Operations and strong central specialized teams to deliver programs at Amazon scale. It is operating multiple programs including TRON, VBI, Proxemics, and other new initiatives in partnership with global technology and operations teams.AVOC team is looking for a Manager Business Intelligence.As a Manager BIE on the team, you will enable effective decision making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format. You will analyze and solve business problems with focus on understanding root causes and driving forward-looking opportunities. Your ownership of the scoping and design of new metrics and enhancement of existing ones will help support the future state of business processes and ensure sustainability. You will communicate complex analysis and insights to stakeholders and business leaders, both verbally and in writing. These analytics and metrics will help ensure we are focused on what s important, enable clarity and focus, and delight our customers. This position will support our expansion to other geographies.Responsibilities include: Work closely with business managers and stakeholders to understand business issues and recommend solutions to ensure business questions are properly answered Understand trends related to Amazon business and recommend strategies to stakeholders to help drive business growth. Reporting of key insight trends, using statistical rigor to simplify and inform the larger team of noteworthy story lines. Respond with urgency to high priority requests from senior business leaders. Identify, develop, manage, and execute analyses to uncover areas of opportunity and present written business recommendations that will help shape the direction of the business. Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions. Ensure data accuracy by validating data for new and existing tools. Learn and understand a broad range of Amazon s data resources and know how, when, and which to use and which not to use. Engage stakeholders in constructive dialogues to convert business problems into logic problems that can be solved with data, statistics, and scripting Manage and execute entire projects or components of large projects from start to finish including project management, data gathering and manipulation, synthesis and modeling, problem solving, and communication of insights and recommendations Mentor junior team members by coaching them on the analytics lifecycle, including identifying the optimal analytical method, building and automating the solution, and generating insights from the results, 7+ years of professional experience in business intelligence and analytics 5+ years of successful business intelligence or analytics team management experience, including employee development, performance management, and delivering results Experience in SQL and ETL Bachelors degree in Math, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Finance or related field or a BA/BS in a related field and 10+ years of experience with data analysis, reporting, and predictive modeling Expertise in data visualization Expertise in managing analytical projects end-to-end Strong verbal and written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams Proficiency in productivity software such as Excel Master s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Finance, Statistics or related discipline Experience working with cloud data repository services such as AWS redshift Experience and ability to effectively gather information from multiple data sources Knowledge and direct experience using business intelligence reporting tools such as Tableau.
