Job Description

The Concept Artist works as part of a team executing CG and traditional artwork, helping to create artwork that adheres to a specific design or look of a show.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Exceptional drawing skills in both traditional and digital formats
  • Experience creating some or all of the following: environments, hard surface, creature and character design and matte paintings
  • Have a strong background in traditional art skills and demonstrate an understanding of fundamentals like three-dimensional space, composition, perspective, proportion, scale, value, depth and colour theory
  • Ensure work is done according to specifications outlined by the Director / Creative team of a show
  • Ability to assemble research and reference material that will be influential to clients and design team
  • The ability to work both independently and within a production environment
  • Demonstration of strong artistic interpretation skills are also required
  • Assist with project clean up and archiving on an ongoing basis
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor s Degree or equivalent and significant experience in producing concept art for VFX / Feature films and games
  • Proficiency in design software like Photoshop/ sketchup is required.
  • Experience or knowledge of story boarding, cinematic techniques, language and shot composition
  • Portfolio of professional and personal work is a must
BROWNIE POINTS
  • Knowledge of softwares like Zbrush, Unreal and Modo is a plus
  • Demonstrated understanding and creation of photo real work
