Office group is responsible for

  • The Data Operations Analyst (DOA) provides support for FTS operations teams by monitoring and resolving issues within the Data Integration Enterprise Service Bus (ESB). The DOA ensures the crucial FTS data is available and accurate as it flows into the ESB for storage and then flows onto the consuming systems (i.e. GMAX, Charles River, PMA) The DOA will log and resolve any data, functionality, and/or system issues reported, track issues for further trend analysis and identify root cause and provide proposed resolutions, provide recommendations. The DOA will work with the FTS System Support team/FTT team to resolve more complex data related issues as well as provide data related reporting to the Data Governance teams
What are the ongoing responsibilities of the Data Operations Analyst Monitor Data Flows:
  • Monitor the DI Dashboard for the Data Integration layer, ensure data feeds are meeting SLAs ensuring complete and timeous delivery of data
  • Ensure resolution of all data processing exceptions
  • Ensure that issues are being researched and resolved timely
  • Ensure that errors are properly communicated to the appropriate operational groups from the workflow monitor.
  • Track and identify trends for review with operation groups to identify root cause, propose resolution, provide recommendations, conduct system test to validate the fixes prior to implementing changes.
  • Partner with technical groups to monitor, troubleshoot and resolve errors from any system interfaces to the investment management systems.
  • Act as initial point of contact for production queries, responding to business, or escalating queries to FTT/Support teams
  • Notify and communicate with partner relationship for incidentproblems being worked on
  • Monitor alerts, research discrepancies and resolve exceptions
Data Enrichment:
  • Research, analyze and solve problems related to ESB GID data and any data services.
  • Maintain control procedures and perform data integrity audits as necessary in order to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data.
  • Define and implement data quality controls, workflows, and problem escalation and correction procedures
  • Track, identify trends, and engage the appropriate supports and vendors to resolve issues.
  • Partner with Risk, Portfolio Teams, Distribution and Product Strategy to identify additional data needs, respond to ad-hoc requests and resolve exceptions
  • Perform data validation for new or changing source data & identify opportunities for automated.
Keep a current understanding of the appropriate group workflows (PM, Trading, Operations, Compliance) and ensure that changes are appropriately reflected in the ESBReporting:
  • Analyzing new, incoming data requests
  • In conjunction with Data Support SMEs, determine best sources of data to meet reporting requirements
  • Create ad hoc and scheduled reports
  • Coordinate testing of reports with Business teams
  • Look at data reconciliation reports, analyze breaks and take necessary corrective actions
  • Follow up with upstream systems and vendors on data issues
  • Monitor changes to business data and make sure to incorporate necessary corrections/updates in procedures
Projects Support:
  • Assist in projects to bring in new information to the ESB onto the DI plat form as well as new subscribers to the ESB to DI.
  • Identify the System bugs/defects and work with Technical groups in testing the fix and ensure that fixes are timely deployed
  • Assist with development and execution of test plans

  • 4-year College degree
  • 3-4 years of experience in Investment Management and Operations
  • Solid understanding of financial markets, standard asset classes, and various security types
  • Experience with relational databases and administration of system.
  • FTS Systems Experience
  • Enterprise Service Bus capabilities
  • Experience with system automation, system development, workflow design analysis, and data analysis
  • Experience with business intelligence software and reporting tools
  • Experience in a global team
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in high pressure, fast pace, short notice, and adjust the priority of the assignments
  • Highly motivated, independent and dedicated
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong written and oral communication
  • Proficiency in business intelligence tools (SAP Business Objects, IBMS Cognos) desired
