Job Description

PROCESS BRIEF

The UX Design Group at FactSet collaborates on cross-functional project teams to contribute to the delivery of high-quality products that meet corporate and client needs. The Group defines the user interaction standards and the visual signature for FactSet s software applications and websites.

The Senior UX Specialist in Interaction Design follows a task-centered design approach that ensures the users goals are at the center of product development. The best candidate for this role will help improve the overall user experience by integrating user-centered design processes into the software development life cycle, contributing interaction design expertise, and translating requirements into intuitive, consistent, and compelling user experiences.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Consistently produce comprehensive and accurate deliverables in a timely manner for multiple medium-sized projects at a time, demonstrating ability to accomplish job tasks autonomously. Work is comprehensive and completed in a timely manner
  • Actively engage in all aspects of the UX process on assigned projects, contributing guidance, support, and input as appropriate. Full design process is followed; project guidance is provided to other designers
  • Facilitate discovery of dependencies across UX projects by actively participating in UX collaboration meetings and sharing knowledge gained on projects. Shared understanding of goals helps team efficiency
  • Engage with project teams to build familiarity with their product areas. Understanding of products helps effective decision-making
  • Work independently with project teams to fully understand the product and project goals Revisions are minimized; projects are managed with reduced management oversight
  • Apply knowledge of users, products, and company standards and processes to project work Product and business knowledge is gained and informs project decisions
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Undergraduate or post-graduate degree Relevant theory knowledge
  • Minimum of 4 years work or equivalent experience performing UX activities Work experience
  • Portfolio of work reflecting a skill set commensurate with the job level Demonstrated ability
  • Highly proficient with the tools and activities required for job tasks Has tactical knowledge and is quick
  • Possesses an advanced understanding and personal philosophy of User Experience and User-Centered Design that aligns with those of the UX team
  • Understanding of UX theory
  • Strong writing, speaking, and listening skills
  • Ability to communicate
  • Ability to think analytically and solve problems Ability to analyze problems being solved
  • Has proven ability to collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams to gain specialized product knowledge, contribute influential ideas, coordinate activities and deliverables for assigned projects, and deliver high quality work Able to collect and share ideas to contribute to solutions
