We are proud of the work that we do at the India Engineering Center thereby fulfilling our mission of making the world a healthier, cleaner and safer place.Roles & Responsibilities:Purpose:The Embedded Staff Architect provides software and systems architectural and design leadership to multiple Embedded Development Scrum Teams delivering Connect Platform & Ecosystem, Customer tenancy, Authorization, and Digital product subscriptions and entitlements. The role is of a Embedded Architect who is motivated to actively contribute to the architecture, design and development of new features. The person is also expected to perform all aspects of software Development including programming, system design, code review, design review, unit testing, and integration testing. The role is expected to make a difference to the product in terms of the design and contribute towards identifying technical risks and find alternate solutions to various problems. In addition to that, the role also demands to lead, motivate, mentor and provide ample guidance to the other team members with respect to technical challenges.Responsibilities:

• Provide software and systems architectural and design leadership to team of engineers.
• Lead design, development, implementation and unit testing of Embedded Linux firmware for mass spectrometer products.
• Work with global software team members to deliver complete and high-quality instrument control software applications to schedule and specification.
• Captures requirements & derive technical specifications to be implemented. Provides estimates on planning of these requirements.
• Provide software and systems architectural and design leadership on new products, and extensions to existing products. Be the team s go-to person for architectural, design and implementation related questions and provide guidance.
• Provides technical guidance, performs reviews, Train, mentor and develop technical capability of team members
• Drives quality on project work through continuous improvement in test strategy, testing, failures/issues analysis and RCCM implementation.

Candidate Educational & Professional Experience Requirement:

• Bachelors/Master s degree in Engineering with electronics / Computer Science with 13+ years of experience in relevant software industry.

Competency Requirements

• Should have Engineering background in Embedded (C programming, Android, Linux, Boot Loader, Device Driver, Multimedia based Middleware Stacks, Connectivity Stacks)

• Should have strong programming and logic related skills to independently write complex C++ & C programs.

• Should have gone through full product development lifecycle for at least 1 or 2 products covering Electronics, Firmware / Software, and Mechanical Designs.

• Proficient of different Micro controllers & clearly understands critical architectures and design features.
• Experience in application development and Linux device driver development in kernel mode
• Experience with boot loaders.
• Experience in Board bring up and OS porting is a plus.
• Very strong with network programming using TCP/IP, USB interfaces, Serial interfaces.
• Experienced in various bus interfaces like CAN, SPI and I2C.

• Self-driven, creative and can work independently to drive timely closure on projects/activities with high quality.
• Clearly understands different options & utilizes optimization techniques.
• Can define infra needs & clearly knows deployment schemes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to review and evaluate code and writings of others.
• Coach/Mentor/Guide Embedded engineers working on the project.
