Job Description

  • To lead and direct the Human Resources function and team at BBRC (Biocon Bristol-Myers Squibb R&D Center) in its entire spectrum of sub-functions such as talent acquisition, talent management and development, employee engagement, compliance, reward and recognition, performance management and learning, as well as client-provider contractual matters, while interfacing with the senior client leadership team to whom this role is accountable to, while drawing on the support of Syngene s Human Resources function wherever and whenever required.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Key interface between the client leadership team at BBRC and Syngene for all HR and people-related matters representing each unit to the other in matters of policy communication and overall implementation of strategic and operational HR issues and people-related actions
  • Direct the HR team through direct reports (HR leads) in translating broad policies and directions in HR into actionable strategies and activities
  • Ensure compliance to contractual requirements between the client and the provider company (Syngene) in matters pertaining to HR, e.g. FTE headcount, PhD ratios, pass-through-FTE ratios etc.
  • Design, direct and provide oversight to HR activities and processes in talent acquisition, performance management, learning and development, reward and recognition etc.
  • Advise, partner and consult with and support the senior leadership (Client) team members in general and specific people-related matters and HR policies of the organization.
  • Act as the point of communication to all staff or specific subsets of the staff in organizational matters, events and directional issues at a macro-level.
  • Participate and contribute to organizational-level initiatives as required, for example Business audits, Business-continuity plan, organizational restructuring etc.
  • Coach, train and mentor reporting team members on-the-job and other specific leaders and/or employees (Syngene-BBRC employees) on specific assignments or requests.
  • Report to the Chief Operating Officer and Head of Enabling Functions of BBRC on all HR and organizational matters.
Educational Qualification:
  • Graduate (preferably in Life Sciences or Engineering) with an MBA in HR/ post-graduate Diploma in HR/ recognized certification in HR.
