You will be responsible for helping define and execute on performance initiatives across the team, as well as providing performance support and mentoring to the team. You will work closely with Program Managers and other Security Engineering disciplines to deliver a comprehensive plan to proactively validate product s performance and prevent regressions across all platforms and a focus on Windows. You will build performance analysis tools and support troubleshooting and pinpointing performance issues. You will fill a vital role in the fight against malware and see the results of your work contributing to protection of millions of customers. Additionally, as a self-driven technical leader, you will also be responsible for ensuring code quality, provide thought leadership in bringing innovation to our engineering practices. ,

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer working on industrial strength software and a proven track record of having shipped commercially successful software products & services

• 5+ years of experience in designing data structures, algorithms, highly concurrent programming, analysis of algorithm complexity.
• Solid knowledge of Windows operating system architecture, kernel concepts and system services and a desire to learn more.
• Familiarity with software performance concepts and methodology.
• Experience with software performance analysis and optimization of native code (C/C++) system applications on Windows.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Software Engineers, Program Managers, Security researchers, and Data Scientists

• Familiarity with system-wide stack walking profilers and trace-based performance analysis tools.
• Familiarity with Performance Analysis, ETW and WPA (Windows Performance Analyzer)
• Familiarity with Linux Perf tools (perf, LTTNG) is a plus.
• Familiarity with tuning for hardware architecture.
• Experience with software development tools such as source control systems (GIT), automated build systems, compilers, software validation systems, project tracking, and lifecycle management systems

• Work independently, drive and manage technical and architectural dependencies
• BS or MS degree in Computer Science
