Job Description

Amazon is seeking a skilled, motivated and customer-obsessed Instructional Designer (ID) with a history of high performance and creativity to support our functional and skill development training programs for the Selling Partner Experience team. The ID will go through an overview of our programs and be given training on our critical tools and work types, after which they will responsible for developing a training needs analysis, and the design, delivery and evaluation of training programs. The ID will also develop and publish knowledge products, ideally using a combination of contemporary tools, which allow new joinees across roles and job families to get familiar with listing concepts within a short period of time. As a part of this role, the candidate must be able to manage the existing learning environment including reporting on various training team related activities. Key responsibilities include:- Develop a thorough understanding of Selling Partner listing tools, listing metadata, and the listing experience.- Design and develop course content included but not limited to measurable learning objectives, scenarios, simulations, audio scripts, progress checks, performance evaluations, reference glossaries, and knowledge assessments.- Author training material using authoring tools including Articulate, Captivate, Camtasia, Rise- Collaborate with program owners to develop and regularly update functional training content- Collaborate with team leadership to identify training needs and proactively plan trainings as necessary.- Utilize ADDIE, SAM, Kirkpatrick and other recognized models to rapidly design, develop and publish engaging course content and learning activities for ILT, online and virtual modalities with continuous evaluation/improvement cycles for the course content.- Adapt instructional materials created for one format to another format (usually from face-to-face to eLearning and virtual).- Upload, test and maintain content to an LMS/equivalent repository.- Contribute to continuous improvement of instructional design and training processes.- Potentially coach and mentor newer team members.- Identify and measure key metrics to track training effectiveness, business impact and ROI of training programs- Create engaging and valid training evaluation exercises to evaluate training effectiveness and successful knowledge transfer- Contribute to org level projects as requiredExperience and expertise with authoring tools, a strong passion for tech and a curiosity to learn new processes are an essential component of being considered for this role., BA or BS degree in a relevant field such as instructional technology, educational technology, organizational development, etc. is desirable 5+ years of work experience with career progression in the field of instructional design, including significant experience in designing and delivering training solutions to large organizations Extensive experience with authoring tools, such as Articulate Storyline/360, Camtasia, Adobe Captivate, Vyond, or similar, as well as JavaScript for xAPI Solid project management skills including, planning work, managing details, keeping multiple tasks/projects on track, using time well, working with stakeholders, and doing whatever it takes to deliver reliable results Demonstrated experience designing and developing training materials in all modalities, including ILT, e-learning, and video. A work sample demonstrating your experience and skill using course authoring tools and ID theory will be will be required as part of the hiring process. Demonstrated use of multiple learning methods and linking appropriate methods with learners and outcomes. Proficient with written English and the ability to represent complex concepts through a combination of written (English) and visual content. Industry certifications in instructional design, curriculum development, performance improvement, project management, and content-specific certifications as appropriate Multi-media development in audio, video, and/or animation (e.g. Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop) Experience with emerging tech trends for content creation (e.g. gamification, virtual reality, augmented reality and xAPI) Ability to assess training effectiveness and ROI to stakeholders and leaders. Experience working with Learning Management Systems (Cornerstone Ondemand, preferably) Degree in a relevant field such as business, education, organizational development, etc.- Experience in detailed training reporting tracking, measuring and reporting on training metrics- Experience with SharePoint
