Job Description

Job Purpose (Job Summary):Work with the Legal Team in Hyderabad and the United States to draft, summarize and negotiate legal documents and agreements, file a variety of claims and regulatory disclosures, provide legal review of reports and assist with other applicable projects/assignments as requested. Oversee and train team members. Key Responsibilities / Duties:

  1. Facilitate partnership within the Americas Legal Team on joint Paralegal projects and responsibilities.
  2. Assist, manage and establish effective workflows for seamless execution of Paralegal work which will encompass reviewing, drafting and summarizing fund agreements, creating repositories on SharePoint as and when requested, and filing class actions/bankruptcy (Chapter 11) recovery claims.
  3. Learn processes quickly and be able to transfer knowledge / train team members.
  4. Setup Quality Assurance Processes to cover all substantial, regulatory risks and financial risks.
  5. Take the lead to effectively execute paralegal projects independently.
  6. Assist the Legal Team as requested.
  7. Effectively find solutions to issues as they arise.
  8. Interact daily with overseas colleagues to facilitate effective stakeholder management (both verbal and written).
  9. Set an example for all new and junior team members and manage in accordance with Invesco s Global Competencies in terms of team spirit, collaboration and healthy partnerships.
  10. Manage a team that may be comprised of paralegals and senior paralegals.
Work Timing:Working timing will be 12.30 pm to 09.30pm IST however this could change from time to time as per process requirements.Work Experience / Knowledge: 5-7 years of legal work experience, preferably with an investment advisor or mutual fund group in legal or other regulatory environment. 1-2 years of people management experience is preferable.Working knowledge of back office operations and securities laws/regulations will be a plus.Skills / Other Personal Attributes Required:
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal and strong analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Shall be a good team player
  • Shall be open to work flexible hours
  • Proficiency on MS Office suite of applications
