This role can be located in other APAC corporate officesKey job responsibilitiesThe Sr Manager role is critical in executing our growth initiatives, providing great customer and partner support, and driving HR functional excellence, delivery and process improvement as part of Amazon s growth in the APAC region. In this role, you will look around corners, think big, deliver on large-scale initiatives, and lead teams through ambiguity and complex challenges. Specifically, you will: Lead a diverse team of sub-regional leads, HR Specialists and Project Managers who are dispersed across multiple countries in the APAC region. Actively recruit bar-raising talent, continuously develop your team, and successfully monitor the pulse of the employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement and performance. Own and lead the regional portfolio of expansion projects, optimizing for speed, customer and employee experience, and productivity at business launch. Partner with HR Centers of Excellence (COEs), HR Business Partner (HRBP) line, Central HR Specialist functions, expansion teams, and relevant Business stakeholders to drive all critical initiatives during organic geographic expansions (from idea through to business launch). Lead regional business goals and recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements. Identify and sponsor process improvement initiatives, and support deployment of tools and processes to support expansion needs. Provide regional subject matter expertise and consulting to ensure expansion projects capture the employment complexities and mitigate related risks. Provide senior leaders and stakeholders with the information needed to assess priorities, implementation opportunities and challenges and keep people informed and up-to-date with risks, opportunities, changes, escalations, decisions, plans, recommendations, and more. Track, manage and communicate portfolio-level status updates, issues, risks, capacity and dependencies.About the teamPXT Expansions provides strategic guidance, program management and project execution for Amazon s organic and inorganic (M&A) expansions across all Steams and geographies. The organization s mission is to create ways for Amazon to grow smarter, optimizing for the customer experience while balancing global solutions and local needs for employees. The PXT APAC Regional team primarily focuses on organic (non-M&A) Amazon expansion efforts, including new country (NCX), in-country (ICX) expansions for new business lines, new employee type set ups and legal entity change projects. The team brings business expansion ideas to life, through internal consulting, performing country due diligence and risk mitigation, enabling local companies (legal entities) for employment, launching employee Day One for the business, and providing post-launch support and transition to the local Business and HR Line., Bachelors Degree required in HR or related field 10+ years of professional work experience 7+ years of experience in an HR generalist or specialist leadership role evidencing strong business acumen and ability to work well across different functions in order to integrate HR and business strategies People management experience 7+ years of experience developing and leading HR and Project Management professionals Expertise in leading large-scale (global or regional) project management of complex expansion projects, related to new geographies and/or businesses. Experience working with global teams, including driving organizational change initiatives and process improvements Should have led and executed large scale expansion projects and process improvements Graduate business/HR degree preferred (MBR or Masters). HR or business line experience in multiple APAC geographies is strongly preferred. Demonstrated success managing multiple priorities simultaneously - orientated on driving results. Experience with rapid growth and complex changing work environment Passion for innovative HR solutions and process improvement Excellent communication skills (written & verbal), including the ability to present complex topics both in person and over the phone A proven track record of leading and driving multiple complex initiatives and programs to meet business objectives and a demonstrated ability to translate strategic initiatives into detailed operation plans. Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously while defining and delivering priorities amidst ambiguity. Proficiency in project planning methodologies, tools, and leading change through data-driven solutions. Proven ability to influence and drive results laterally and remotely through HR and cross-functional colleagues. Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills. Demonstrates humility and openness to multiple perspectives in leading project decision making. Knowledge of employment laws and market practice within regional geographies, partners effectively with relevant stakeholders to incorporate local practice into project plans.
