Competitive pay dependent upon experience and certification.YAMAHA TECHNICIAN JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Summary:Proficiency and training in all aspects of outboard troubleshooting and repairs, including but not limited to:Repair and Maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment of Yamaha outboard boat engines.Duties and Responsibilities:-
• Observe equipment in operation to detect potential problems. Start motors and monitor
• performance for signs of malfunctioning, such as smoke, excessive vibration, or misfiring.
• Document inspection and test results and work performed or to be performed.
• Mount motors to boats and operate boats on waterways to conduct operational tests.
• Repair defective engines or engine components.
• Perform routine engine maintenance such as changing oil and filters.
• Replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts.
• Inspect and repair or adjust propellers or propeller shafts.
• Adjust boat components according to specifications to ensure optimal performance.
• Disassemble equipment for maintenance or repair.
• Repair electrical circuits or wiring.
Experience Requirements:Required Skills Mounting and rigging of Yamaha outboard motors Diagnose and repair all Yamaha outboards, both conventional and D.E.C engines Proficient in the use of computer diagnostic tools Proficient in the installation and repair of vessels 12v DC systems Proficient in the installation and repair of outboard hydraulic steering systems. Must have the proper tools to perform the trade. Certifications from Yamaha .desired but not required. Willingness to take classes or courses as needed to advance your training. Inventory control of the materials used for your job description. Keeping your work area clean and presentably daily. Training and guiding apprentices. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT - The physical demands and work environment described below are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The associate must possess the ability to stand in place for long periods of time; walk in the store ,bend, stoop and kneel regularly Physical ability to stand for extended periods and to move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the service department which entails lifting, and perform all functions as set forth above in the job description. .
