PCB Staff Design Engineer

Job Description

WWG is seeking an experienced PCB Design Engineer in the area of PCIe compliant Telco Data Center Boards. The successful candidate will be responsible for an out-sourced board development program, where the MRD and System specifications will be sourced internally, while the board design will be outsourced. The projects will have technical consulting provided by internal experts in Signal Integrity, Thermal, Reliability, Manufacturing etc. The candidate will have experience working with both OEM/ODM vendors and internal technical teams. He/she will have the ability to pull in the required expertise to guarantee high quality results based on his/her experience in the complete product development process and the life cycle.The successful candidate will have both depth and breadth in the PCB design, test and development disciplines as listed in the requirements below. An engineering degree or demonstration of competency in this area is required. • All aspects of HW Design, Analysis, Layout, Fabrication, Assembly, EDVT, Certification and Manufacturing processes.
• Drive NPI product development to meet time-to-market demands centered on POR and production rollout milestones
• Leverages understanding of NPI requirements, new product packages and manufacturing processes to enable fast ramp-up to meet yield and cost roadmaps
• Provides innovative hardware solutions to complex mechanical NPI challenges
• Good in analyzing how all the elements of a design solution fit together.
• Good evaluation on internal request against requirements.Knowledge and experience in as many of the following items is considered critical:
• High-volume Manufacturing of board-level products and support there-of.
• Board-level power supply design and analysis. Evaluation of POLs. Experience in using SIMetrix.
• Board-level power and signal integrity analysis and best design practices. Experience in using Hyperlynx and/or Cadence Sigrity tools.
• Allegro Constraints Manager for managing PCB and high-speed design rules.
• Industry standards related to PCIe, SFP28, DDR4 and 100GE.
• Product certification and demonstrated experience in taking products through UL, FCC and CE processes.
• Test engineering, including Test plan development and execution.
• Working with system-level considerations of Host SW and board-level firmware in the HW development.Soft Skill Requirements:

• Exercises solid analytical problem solving and hardware troubleshooting skills
• Communicates regularly with cross functional leaders on fast changing product profiles impacting production manufacturability, and ensure responsive change management.
• Accurately documents and effectively communicates the rational for a design to design implementation to stakeholders (e.g., peer reviews, Technical Solution Groups, management)
• Present design decisions in a constructive and professional way before peers and direct management.
• Questions and provides insights on statistical results as the basis for designing experiments to reach valid and reliable conclusionsEducation RequirementsMinimum a degree holder in engineering field. Master degree will be an advantage.

Years of Experience

• Minimum of 5 years in related field[L1] as an Hardware Engineer or a Test Engineer.
• Experience in board design, test and debug.
