Job Description

Job Title : Senior Software Engineer

Department : Systems Infrastructure

Team : Browser Team

Location : Hyderabad

Shift Timings : General Shift (9:30 AM to 6:30 PM)

Team Brief

Systems Infrastructure is looking for a talented C++ Software Engineer to be a part of FactSet s Browser Team. The Browser team develops application frameworks and technologies for FactSet s primary Workstation production, including application management, search, integration with the Symphony chat platform, and embedding Chromium.

We are looking for a dynamic individual to take on the role of a software engineer. You would be building and maintaining Factset s fork of popular open source software CEF (Chromium Embedded Framework). You will integrate latest CEF changes into our codebase and maintain the CEF build framework on AWS. Part of your job will be to debug workstation crashes due to CEF.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of 5 engineers
  • Contribute new features, fixes, and refactors to the Publisher Service
  • Perform code reviews and coach engineers with respect to best practices
  • Think and communicate critically about architecture, design, and best practices
  • Collaborate with other engineers and Product Developers in a Scrum Agile environment using Jira and Confluence
  • Estimate task sizes and regularly communicate progress in daily standups and biweekly Scrum meetings
  • Coordinate with other teams across offices and departments
  • Develop new features for the products as requested by stakeholders
  • Collaborate with other developers to come up with creative solutions using the latest technologies RD
  • Maintain existing product features by working on bug fixes and code refactors
  • Provide project status updates to stakeholders on a regular basis

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of industry experience building applications in C++, C#, .NET Framework
  • Experience working on .NET framework, .NET based windows application development, Webservices development
  • Experience with web development technologies: HTML, JavaScript, CSS
  • Familiarity with VueJS/React/Angular(JS)
  • Sound knowledge of object oriented design principals
  • Ability to articulate and quickly adopt development best practices
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Willingness to work as a member of a team, participate in peer code reviews, maintain project and operational documentation
  • Ability to work as part of a geographically diverse team
  • Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical people

Nice to Haves:

  • Strong knowledge in C++ and C# application design and development.
  • Experience building medium to large size C++ applications/libraries.
  • Experience with boost libraries and STL
  • Familiarity with Win API, ATL, COM, MFC
  • Knowledge in chromium architecture will be an added advantage
  • git or bitbucket - Common repository skills (can rebase, merge, branch, etc.).
  • Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Bamboo) - Some experience preferred
  • Knowledge of continuous integration, testing and delivery systems
  • Understanding and exposure to SCRUM Agile methodologies
