Job Description

We secure the Azure, Windows, Xbox, and Surface businesses. We drive security and product teams across Microsoft to ensure that we have the right tools and services to protect these key businesses with clear focus on end-to-end Supply Chain security. We are looking for a Senior Security Software Engineering manager to help us advance our offensive security services like red teaming, application security testing, security research and engineering.

  • Engineering and development lead managing a team of application security and penetration testers, full stack developers and security engineers.
  • Build efficiencies in the team to find vulnerabilities / security bugs in highly critical services by developing world class code analysis capabilities.
  • Establish a highly collaborative working environment with our product teams, environment owners, defense teams to comprehensively understand the security gaps discovered through overt (Purple Team) and covert (Red Team) security engagements by this team.
  • Architect, design and create innovative security solutions to help bake security into extreme left of development lifecycle. Help close security gaps in our products and services to secure end-to-end supply chain and fix systemic security issues.
  • Enable team to improve security posture of our environments and services through design changes, mitigation strategy, security controls, and detections.
  • Design and build data pipelines by accessing, transforming, reducing, and joining large data sets programmatically, creating reliable high-quality datasets.
  • Develop strategies for training, research, and tool development to stay current with cutting edge of application security, offensive, and defensive tools, tactics & procedures.
, Required:
  • 3+ years experience in people management role with strong leadership capabilities.
  • 5+ years combined experience in areas like application testing and penetration testing.
  • 3+ years experience in security engineering, operations, consulting, or support.
  • Strong understanding of implementing solutions in Microsoft Azure technologies or competing cloud services.
  • Demonstrated coding skills (C#, C++, Java, Python, ASP.NET, JavaScript) along with infrastructure engineering knowledge.
  • Bachelor of science degree in software engineering, computer science OR equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, proven ability to handle difficult and sensitive situations involving the most critical and politically charged situations; great cross-group and interpersonal skills; ability to adapt quickly to lead programs/projects and to enable innovation, thirst for continual learning and passion to motivate and grow people.
Preferred:
  • Experience in technical disciplines outside security space, including general software development, networking, database management, and full-stack development.
  • Experience in three or more of the following technologies Azure Security, Azure Active Directory, Identity Access Management, Microsoft Defender ATP, Azure Security Center, Azure Sentinel, Cloud Access Security Broker, Windows Security, Cryptography, Operational Security, or Security Development Lifecycle.
  • 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following data technologies: Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Explorer (Kusto Log Analytics Query Language [KQL], Cosmos, Kafka etc.
  • CISSP, OSCP, GCIA, or SANS certifications.
  • Experience using the Microsoft Security Development Lifecycle (SDL) at scale.
