• This team being part of Investment Management Data Science and Technology group is responsible for development, maintenance of applications and providing supports for the Emerging Markets Equity(EME) team in technology. The key application supported by the team is the research application for the EME team which has around 100 users spreading in Asia, Europe, Latin America etc. It s an inhouse application which is running in Azure and Oracle.

What is the Software Engineer responsible for

• Software Engineer provides proficiency in application development and production support activities to support business needs. Develops complete features and reviews source code of more junior engineers. Leverages experience and business domain knowledge to triage production support issues

What are the ongoing responsibilities of Software Engineer

• Develops new code and configuration for complete features.
• Develops and maintains automatable test cases.
• Develops automated build and deployment methods.
• Self-educates to gain a comprehensive understanding of relevant development languages, runtimes, frameworks, database platforms, and tooling.
• Applies understanding of the business domain to triage support issues.
• Correlates environmental changes to production issues.
• Monitors capacity metrics.
• Supports Disaster Recovery activities.
• Analyzes requirements, proposes high level solutions, and documents new code and configurations for complete features.
• Documents solutions and configurations for vendor products or developed systems.
• Contributes to project plans.
• Documents production support issue resolutions, Disaster Recovery steps, and responses to audits.
• Builds and maintains effective working relationships with other technical teams.

, *What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful

• Bachelor s Degree or higher in Information Technology or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in full stack software development.
• Solid programming experience in C# and Oracle PL/SQL.
• Proficiency with frontend languages/JavaScript frameworks; Angular, React.
• Knowledge of UI/UX experience is an advantage.
• Experience in cloud computing e.g. Microsoft Azure.
• Basic knowledge of search framework e.g. Elasticsearch and visualization tool like Power BI.
• Practical experience in using Web application development and Microservices
• Well versed with Git / BitBucket.
• Knowledge of financial market data applications like Bloomberg, Factset is a plus.
