In this role, you will help us dramatically revamp our user and access management experience. You will guide and mentor the developers responsible for the key authentication and user management service for Red Hats open hybrid cloud platform, sso.redhat.com, and its surrounding integrations. While we revamp this service for the next generation of Red Hat s cloud offerings, you will collaborate with roles across Red Hat, including Red Hats product engineering teams, architects, marketing and analytics, open source communities, and our users. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business. Primary job responsibilities

• Lead the team in the software design and development process, mentoring developers, guiding implementation, reviewing code, and striving for consensus on key decisions
• Participate in the design and development of core features of Red Hat Single Sign-On (SSO) offering or related to the various types of integrations with other Red Hat s offerings and backend systems
• Build custom plugins for Red Hat SSO while working with that projects open source community to grow the platform for Red Hat s customers
• Analyze and clarify business requirements
• Integrate both Red Hat s offerings and vendor solutions to Red Hat s internal environment
• Help foster a safe, open, customer-centric, risk-taking, and high-performing team culture
• Guide the team toward the technical practices, framework, and architecture decisions which make sustainable and valuable tradeoffs
• Actively participate in coordination efforts and collaborate with other teams and communities

Required skills

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a distributed team
• Ability to quickly learn new domains and technologies
• Experience with application architecture or technical leadership
• 7 years of professional experience in front or back-end software development with at least some Java or other JVM language knowledge
• Experience developing and operating web or messaging applications
• Good understanding of core concepts related to application security
• Good understanding of continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) tools and processes
• Good understanding of DevOps principles and practices
• Familiarity with modern token-based application security standards like OAuth2 and OpenID Connect
• Experience using MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB
• Experience working with distributed source control tools like Git, including branching and merging
• Bachelor s or master s degree in computer science, engineering, or other closely related field
• Familiarity or direct experience with the Keycloak project or Red Hat SSO offering and core features is a big plus
• Knowledge of Kubernetes or Linux Containers is a plus
