Testing, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and upgrading of marine elevators (elevators on seagoing vessels). Requirements. Minimal Nitec in preferable electrical or alternative mechanical engineering or engineering equivalentLift mechanics assemble, install, adjust, maintain and repair electric and hydraulic freight and passenger lifts and escalators. An experienced lift mechanic is able to perform more complex work functions and tasks, such as adjusting and tuning lifts to make sure they work safely and efficiently.To become a lift mechanic you have to complete an apprenticeship as an electro technology electrician. Generally, employers require a junior secondary school certificate or equivalent. After completing your apprenticeship, you would need to apply for a license to perform electrical work.
