    1. Sound knowledge of RDBMS Concepts
    2. Advanced knowledge of Database Architecture (background process etc)
    3. Intermediate knowledge of SQL queries
    4. System Views
    5. Knowledge of one Database Technology: SQL Server
    6. Intermediate knowledge of Unix
    7. Advanced knowledge of Shell Scripting
    8. Intermediate knowledge of Database Patching, Tablespace Management, User Management Backup and Recovery
    9. Intermediate knowledge of Optimization (Explain plans, Statistics, Optimizer, Partitions, Trace files, System Views)
    10. Advanced knowledge of Cluster Administration
    11. In case of Oracle, knowledge of Exadata Administration
    12. Knowledge of DB Deployment and DB Support Tickets
    * Flexible to work in rotational shifts with 24*7 coverage, understand business criticality, and provide extended support whenever required.* Hands-on experience to develop, manage and test backup and recovery plans* DB cluster management, daily maintenance activities including admin tasks, setting up automated monitoring and alerting system, data purging, archiving, defragmentation of tables, reindexing, log cleaning, DB deployment, and migration, master-slave node management* Performance tuning, understanding of Explain plans, Statistics, Optimizer, Partitions, Trace files, System Views * Understand and perform capacity planning, ensure that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly * work closely with other teams to make sure operations run smoothly, be part of bridge calls to collaborate with the Dev team for Severity 1 (critical) incident resolution/workaround* Coordinating and collaborating with other teams /stakeholders including IT project managers, database programmers, Infrastructure teams, etc.* Communicate regularly with technical, applications, and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security* Commission and install new applications and customize existing applications in order to make them fit for purpose* Manage the security and disaster recovery aspects of a database.* Interacting with clients where needed and managing verbal / written communications.* Understand the ITSM processes, experience working in the Kanban model and Scrum model.* Flexible to work in rotational shifts with 24*7 coverage, understand business criticality, and provide extended support whenever required.
