Job Description

  • Use your programming expertise and Linux security knowledge to support high quality solutions with a focus on productization of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
  • Design and develop tests and tools to support automation and CI goals
  • Uncover issues to prevent impact on functionality, usability, security, or interoperability of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) with other solutions
  • Closely collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
  • Get involved in open source projects and communities related to identity management project
  • Stay up to date with the latest technologies and development methodologies
What you will bring
  • Knowledge of Python programming, e.g., OOPs concepts, working with regular expressions, etc.
  • Knowledge of the shell scripting, e.g., Bash
  • Familiarity with CI, Jenkins, etc.
  • Familiarity with Ansible playbooks
  • Knowledge of containers
  • Experienced Linux power user or good orientation in general Linux system administration; ability to accomplish basic administrative tasks in the terminal, e.g., install packages, work with file systems, etc.
  • Familiarity with basic text processing utilities like grep, sed, etc.
  • Understanding of the Linux architecture, boot process, services, logs, etc.
  • Analytical thinking, understanding customer perspective, and good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and learn quickly
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English
  • The following are considered a plus:
  • Interest in security and compliance
  • Knowledge of or interest in technology areas like secure networking, security compliance, SELinux, identity, authentication, and authorization (IAA) solutions, security certifications and compliance, logging, and auditing
  • Prior involvement in an upstream open source project
  • Experience with modern agile software development principles, methodologies, and processes
