This practice includes a large team of professionals in fields such as content strategy and information architecture; user experience research and design; digital performance optimization through web analytics, testing, search, and feedback tools; and customer experience strategy. This matrixed team supports primarily federal technology and CX projects across many ICF divisions.The team s goal is to apply unconventional intelligence and human-centered design to deliver better experiences to the people who matter most to our clients. You ll enjoy the thrill of solving complex digital challenges while improving the lives of the people who interact with the systems we design.The WorkThis position will join an established, experienced team on a multi-year modernization project for a high profile, impactful, federal digital service. This position will become part of an agile scrum team charged with reimagining a regulated data entry interface, which will include participating in scrum ceremonies, assisting with product strategy, understanding user pathways, developing user stories, facilitating requirements gathering, and creating designs and specifications. In addition to leading a project part of the time, the Senior Manager will coordinate 3-5 additional UX/UI designers who work across multiple projects.Key Responsibilities:
    • Independently contribute to projects that may have multiple owners and multiple team members who report to different supervising units
    • Serve as active and engaged team member accountable for all UX strategy and design, advocating for decision-making based on best practices, user research, and other data analysis.
    • Prioritize tasks and change requests in real time with excellent supporting documentation
    • Assist with Design Studios, understand user, client, and regulatory considerations for designs
    • Develop UX wireframes based on user, client, and regulatory considerations
    • Create documentation describing the functionality and specifications of designs
    • Use your creativity to help find solutions for the unique challenges the user may have
    • Be eager to learn from your colleagues and be an active contributor to the team s collective knowledge
    • Mentoring junior staff in their creation of design deliverables
    Required Qualifications:
    • 4+ years of experience in a UX lead or similar role
    • Bachelor s degree
    • Ability to collaborate with teams in an agile setting and work across many workstreams
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Talent for anticipating obstacles and risk in projects and proactively seeking solutions to mitigate them
    • U.S. citizenship required (required by Federal government for position)
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Familiarity with USWDS 2.0+
    • Experience with UX strategy and design projects for public sector clients
    • Experience in form design
    • Experience using Jira and Confluence to capture documentation
    • Management experience
    • Familiarity working on a large modernization project using Design Agile methodology
