Atlan started as us building small tools to make our own data team more agile.Over a couple of years, we made our team 6X more agile and went on to do amazing things like build Indias National Data Platform used by its Prime Minister. • Scope of impact:
• You will help produce platform features which will have the ability to support multiple user requirements at the same time. Your impact is to showcase the multiplier effect of platform product management.
• You will work with multiple teams and your inputs will drive shaping the platform and in turn product to a large extent. Your communication will help keep the focus on building the right foundation.
• You will stand at the vanguard of the product teams, so that product teams can build without worrying about the second-order effects of product features. Your effort will boost quality and user focus for all downstream teams.
• Problem space:
• You will be responsible to identify, articulate, and prioritise problems. This needs to be backed by solid research and the capability to zoom to different levels at the same time - Define the problem with broad focus while zooming in to details so that we can provide the right solution .
• You will be solely responsible to lead cross-functional conversations with multiple stakeholders (Sales, Product, Partners, Strategy, Engineering, Customer Success, Customer Happiness etc.) to bring necessary clarity to define the problem statement and keep the communications flowing until we deliver the solution.
• Any issues induced by the platform team have a disproportionate impact on the product and in turn our customers. This is further complicated by the fact that you will be working with multiple teams for each and every feature. Execution will be your first focus for each day.
• Solution space:
• You will own the platform product roadmap or part of it, driving features based on growth objectives, adoption strategies, partnership requirements, engineering excellence, product team blockers and more. Drive company-wide alignment for each quarter and get all stakeholders on the same page with a focus on delivering value earlier than everybody else.
• Capability to take an obscure problem statement and turn it into a detailed solution document ready for the engineering teams consumption. This requires deep research, multi-dimensional thinking and innovative solution capability.
• Use your obsession with quality and attention to detail to showcase flawless execution . Deliver features continuously to meet the commitments made as part of the roadmap. Communicate consistently so that platform features can be evangelised to Product, Engineering, Sales and above all Customers.
• Documentation:
• Atlan is the document first company and as such expects everyone to document all their work so that we can align better and faster. As a platform product manager, you will be required to write a lot of documents to describe Customer pain points, solutions, initiatives and anything in between.

• A deep understanding of the product landscape and a background in technology and data to have a nuanced understanding of customers and user problems.
• You take full ownership and accountability of your work. You love deep work and produce high-quality outcomes consistently while simultaneously capable of getting into the thick of the problems and finding the solutions being faced by the engineering teams.
• Excellent articulation, communication and documentation capabilities. The ability to advocate your recommendations and get buy-in from the wider audience is key for you to be able to deliver a disproportionate impact.
• You do not wait for instructions and guidelines and believe in taking end-to-end ownership of things.
• Straightforward with the ability to stand for your views and opinions while capable of accepting criticism in the right spirit and evolving based on facts.
