POSITION SUMMARYThe Product Specialist, Cloud Cost Management is a role for passionate, curious, and driven technology professionals that can identify opportunities in the DevOps/Software landscape where Harness Cloud Cost Management has market fit. Armed with only a cardinal direction and original thought, they are experts in transforming fluid situations into solid outcomes. Product Specialists are self-starters that seek opportunities to lead up-and-down the chain, while practicing extreme ownership over their customer accountabilities and product solutions.Calling on years of technical experience, a Product Specialist builds advanced, repeatable best practices into demo environments. They will be the authority for all solutions in the field; advocating their designs near and far, from internal staff to audiences at trade conferences. Product Specialists play a crucial role in customer boardrooms, using their real-world insight to demonstrate value and instill confidence at all levels, from individual contributor to executive.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Horizontal and Vertical Excellence: Design, build, and demonstrate best-practices for standalone implementations of the Cloud Cost Management product, while maximizing the design s value and interoperability across the evolving Harness Platform
• Speak for the People: On stage, in blogs, at their table, and in your code, bring your designs to the technology community; designs rooted in adept technique, but more importantly, designs that emphasize the clear, measurable value we deliver to individuals and organizations that use Harness products
• Train the Trainers: Make yourself accountable to every solution that is recommended to our customers; review every feature or proposed design, analyze it, demonstrate its value, then present it to customer-facing colleagues at a regular cadence
• Own the Feedback Loop: Deliver continuous improvements to Harness customers by leveraging years of real-world expertise to forge cohesive relationships with all relevant teams, and be the champion for metric-driven changes to our products or processes
• Influence the Landscape: Maintain a catalog of the in-field product solutions currently leveraged by our customers and use it to build a detailed view of how they align, or deviate, from established best-practices; using this data to inform product design and showcase how the Harness Platform offers superiority over the competition
• Be the Domain Expert: Collaborate with customers to understand cloud usage and optimize Harness CCM to their unique needs and financial budgetsDevelop best practice configurations for budgets, cost alerting, idle resource management, and custom dashboards that report on cost saved or where resources are over-provisioned, etcKnow the most common overruns in the cloud computing industry and develop cost savings solutions using Harness CCM; marketing these capabilities to customers and training field sales to identify their value for prospects
ABOUT YOU
• BA/BS degree in CS or Computer Engineering-related field with 3+ years of relevant experience
• 5+ YoE in DevOps roles that included hands on experience with multiple of the following solutions: AWS Cost Explorer, GCP Billing, Azure Cost Management + Billing, Cloudability, Kubecost, Public Cloud Spot Infrastructure
• Experience advocating for cost saving initiatives within software engineering/infrastructure organizations; identifying opportunities to reduce costs and implementing solutions to meet budget goals
• You understand that a well designed solution will encourage expanded product use, while aligning a customer s architecture for future integrations with other Harness products
• You are a perpetual learner, thrive in a team setting but also as a decentralized rockstar, enjoy sharing your experience and solutions, while consistently pursuing excellence and success in all your tasks
• Detail-oriented and analytical, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to travel up to 25%
