Role Summary/Purpose:We are looking for an API Developer to design and develop consumer-centric low latency scalable cloud native applications leveraging Spring & Cloud technologies for our Enterprise Data Lake initiative. This high visibility, fast-paced key initiative will integrate data across internal and external sources, provide analytical insights and integrate with our critical systems.This position is remote, where you have the option to work from home. On occasion we may request for you to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events. Were proud to offer you choice and flexibility.Essential Responsibilities:Design and develop containerized microservices for cloud native applications using Spring frameworkDevelop low latency Java Springboot APIs and deploy on Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) in a complex data management environment using CI/CD pipelines.Develop integration of Kakfa, Hbase, Redshift, MySQL and Hive databasesResearch caching techniques and develop solutions for data caches such as Gemfire, RedisDevelop and deploy code on on-prem and on AWSAutomated build, deployment and configuration with Jenkins, Bitbucket and MavenAct as a subject matter expert for Spring, J2EE, microservices designWork across IT teams to ensure code quality, performance and scalability of deployed data productsDevelop & review technical documentation for artifacts deliveredPerform other duties and/or special projects as assignedQualifications/Requirements:Bachelors degree in a quantitative field (such as Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Econometrics), with 3+ years of professional Java development experience; OR in lieu of a degree, 5+ years of professional Java development experience.Minimum 2 years of in-depth experience in design, and development using J2EE/Eclipse, Spring Boot, REST Services in complex large scale environments.Minimum 1 year of experience using in memory data grid technology such as GemFire, Redis, Hazelcast.Minimum 1 year of experience integration with middleware platforms such as IBM WebSphere, Tibco, Oracle ESB.Minimum 1 year of experience integration with Hadoop/Hive, SQL and HBase/NoSQL data stores like Cassandra and MongoDB.For Internal Applicants: Understand the criteria or mandatory skills required for the role, before applying.Inform your Manager or HRM before applying for any role on Workday.Ensure that your Professional Profile is updated (fields such as Education, Prior experience, Other skills) and it is mandatory to upload your updated resume (Word or PDF format)Must not be any corrective action plan (First Formal/Final Formal, PIP)Employees who have completed 18 months in the organization and 12 months in current role and level are only eligible.Level 8+ employees can applyDesired Characteristics:Experience with deployment of microservice architecture on Pivotal Cloud Foundry platformExperience with public cloud computing platforms such as AWSExperience integrating with load balancers and Protegrity platform for tokenizationExperience with Agile project management methods and practices.Demonstrated excellent planning and organizational skillsCollaborate across teams of internal and external technical staff, business analysts, software support and operations staffAble to work effectively with multiple teams and stakeholdersWilling to stay abreast of the latest developments in technology,
